Hi there!  Summer is almost over but I’m not quite ready to let go of pretty flowers and move to fall leaves ~ it’s in the 90’s here in North San Diego County and my roses are still blooming!  The color challenge this week from my friend, Mary Fish, is perfect for late summer flowers!

For this card I tried a new watercolor technique.  I’m not sure it has a name, but you drop big drops of water mixed with ink onto your paper to create large splotches.  It was kind of fun!  But then when I put my card together I didn’t really pay any attention to the background and afterward saw that I glued a leaf branch pointing right to a splotch.  Not sure if I like it, but there it is – already glued.  Next time I’ll pay more attention (hopefully!).

The flowers are all from the Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating framelits.  They have wonderful depth because they are two and three-step stamps.  That means you have two or three stamps that stamp over each other with different colors to create a 3-D effect.

The branches and leaves are also from the Jar of Love set.  The little strip of hearts is a fun little die which is included with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. PPA 313 angled R

Thanks for stopping by today!  Pop on over to the Pals Paper Arts site to see what the other designers have done with these pretty colors!  Better yet, make your own creation and enter it over there!  I’ll look for you!
