The Remarkable Inkbig Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Blog Hop for March 2017. This month our theme is “Sale-A-Bration”.  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog, Pretty Paper Cards,  or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Peggy Noe at Pretty Paper Cards.

I’m so happy to be taking part in today’s blog hop!  To celebrate our theme, my card today has LOTS of Sale-a-Bration items!  Just for fun I tried to get in as many as I could.  Can you spot them all?

Well, the flowers are from the Avant Garden stamp set.  I stamped three on the Whisper White panel, and then stamped four on another sheet and fussy cut them out to adhere on top of the other flowers.

I gave the flowers little stamen centers using the Botanical Builders Framelits and Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper.  I had to get in the fabulous Glimmer Paper!

The lace at the top is stamped from the Delicate Details stamp set.  Don’t you just love lace?  I do, and I love that I can add it anywhere on my card using the stamps in this set!

The happy birthday banner is from the Any Occasion stamp set.  This set is totally fun!  You get the “clothes line” stamp with lots of words and phrases  to hang on the clothes line 🙂

So, I count four different Sale-a-Bration items, what about you?  Did you catch them all?  Which items do you already have?  Remember, these Sale-a-Bration items are only available through March 31st, so get them while you can!!

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog, Pretty Paper Cards, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.

Spring Has Sprung Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring spring or spring-related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the lineup on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all the projects.

My project today is a spring birthday card in a pretty glassine envelope!  Stampin’ Up! glassine bags made fabulous envelopes for cards!

The card just pulls out of the envelope easily.  For this card I made a little topper of lace doilies by cutting the doilies in half and adhering them to the back of the card.

The card itself has several layers that open up to reveal the sentiment 🙂  Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate with a sheet of Vellum underneath are attached to the card at the top using my favorite washi tape (the copper dotted tape from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape).

When you lift the layers up you find the pretty birthday wish from the Big on Birthdays stamp set!  I made this card for a dear friend who has a birthday later this month.  I’m going to write a little note there in the center of the page 🙂

You’ll noticed that I used about as much glimmer paper as I could!  I love it, and right now (until March 31st) you can get this beautiful glimmer paper FREE during Sale-a-Bration! (See below!)

Layers, layers and more layers make this glassine envelope really pop!  I hope you’ll try these glassine bags for envelopes.  Of course, you have to personally deliver a card with this type of envelope, but you know the person who receives it will be blown away!!

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Pals Blog Hop: Case the Catty!

2017badge-flamingo

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are CASE’ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration from which to choose. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the lineup on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop 3 best

What does “CASE the catty” mean anyway?  It means to make any project shown in any of the current Stampin’ Up! catalogs. I chose to used the Any Occasion stamp set and make a few of the cards shown in the Sale-a-Bration Catalog!  This darling stamp set is on pages 14 and 15 of the Sale-a-Bration Catalog (see the catalog at the end of this post!).  I cased (copied) one of the cards and then created a few cards which are similar to the ones shown in the photo.

Now, there are several fabulous things about this stamp set.  The first fabulous thing is that it’s F-R-E-E!! Yes, FREE with a $50 purchase!  Who can beat that?

Hop 3 clothespins

The second fabulous thing about this set is that is SO cute!  Oh my goodness, it’s darling!  The stamps are small and can fit anywhere (and small is cute, right?).  But also, I mean just look at the tiny gift box and bow stamps on the birthday card in the middle above.  And check out the little tassels on the thank you card.  Super cuteness!!

Hop Pink standing

And what do you think of the tiny lace on the baby card above?  It’s actually two stamps, the swoopy line is one stamp and the lace is another stamp!

Hop 3 standing row

And third, this set is crazy versatile!  I’ve counted, and there are at least 7 types of cards that you could make from this one stamp set.  Wow!  20 different stamps come in the set and you just mix and match ~ how great is that?

The products used on these cards are listed for you below, along with a link to the Sale-a-Bration Catalog so you can browse!

From the Heart Blog Hop!

2017badge-flamingo

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects showcase themes that are “from the heart.” This includes any of the following themes… Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop envieSometimes we just need a fancy Valentine.  Whether you want to give someone a fancy Valentine or you want to receive one…  And, if you need a fancy Valentine today, then this is for you 🙂

Hop cu RThe star element of this card is the 3-D heart!  It’s super-easy to make.  I cut 5 hearts using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies. Each heart was stamped, both on the front and the back, with a flourish stamp from the Falling Flowers stamp set.  The stamping puts patterns on the hearts which coordinate with the background designer series paper.

Hop flat

Each heart was then folded in half and the sides glued together.  I love the result!

Hop cu L

The pretty Lace Doily is new in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  These doilies are Whisper White on one side and Very Vanilla on the other side.  How versatile is that?  For my card I used the Very Vanilla side to go with the Very Vanilla card base.

Hop standing

Behind the doily is a circle punched from Calypso Coral card stock.  This highlights both the doily and the heart!  The Calypso Coral frame was created using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Pals Wicked Folds Blog Hop!

2016badge-watermelon

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for October 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects feature cards made using “wicked” folds. What is a “wicked” fold? It is anything other than the standard A2 card fold. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop sganding

Today’s card is a triple fold card ~ 3 beautiful folds that open up to a pretty card.  And all held together with a ribbon, flowered band!

Hop angled R

This card shows off lots of pretty designer series paper on the folds and adds the sentiments on the inside.  It gives the card maker lots of room to play 🙂

Hop flag open pg 2 2

This is an easy card to make.  You need some 12″ x 12″ card stock.  Here I used Whisper White card stock trimmed to 12″ x 5-1/2″.   To create the folds, score the long 12″ side at 4-1/4″, 7-1/4″, and 10-1/4″.

Hop flat open pg 1

I lined each panel with dsp and tried to alternate the patterns.  I then put a thin Happy Birthday banner inside the first fold, and another nice sentiment in the second fold.

Hop flat cu

The “belly” band is made of 2 strips of 12″ x 1″ card stock, one of Peekaboo Peach covered with copper speckled washi tape, and another of Cajun Craze.  They are alternated just a bit so the Cajun Craze strip peeks out under the other one.  A pretty piece of Peekaboo Peach 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon was slipped in on the right side of the band.  A flower cut from the May Flowers Framelits and leaves from the Flourish Thinlits finish off the band.

My Favorite Season ~ Pal’s Blog Hop!

2016badge-watermelon

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for September 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects represent our favorite year-end season. It may be Autumn, Winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas (and maybe even a combination!). We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop best

My favorite season is Autumn, also known as Fall 🙂  I love the change of season from the hot and sunny to the cool and cozy!  Here in San Diego County it’s hot and sunny much of the year.  And, even into the Fall we can have hot weather.  But beginning now, in September, the temperatures usually drop a bit, and what they call the “marine layer” comes in from the coast, giving us nice cool mornings and evenings.  I love it!!!

Hop standing

We don’t have a lot of falling leaves like other parts of the country, so it’s fun to imagine and create my own leaves!  The Vintage Leaves stamp set is perfect for this!

Hop angled L

The base of my card was stamped on watercolor paper with pretty fall colors.  Then with an Aqua Painter I added a bit of water to blend the colors.

Hop angled R

A few loose leaves were cut from the pretty Flourish Thinlits.  And, they are sitting on top of two circles of different sizes embossed at the same time in the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.  To do this, layer the smaller circle on top of the larger one and put them into the folder together.  Then run the folder though the Big Shot.  The result is that the circles are pressed together and actually become one piece.  It’s really neat!

Pals “B” Blog Hop!

2016badge-watermelon

We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are based on “B“ themes such as Birthday, Bride or Baby. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop envie

For today’s Blog Hop with the “B” theme, I have a Bird Birthday card for you! 🙂  Lots and lots of new products are used on this card.  I wonder if you can spot them all?

Hop angled

Everything here is my favorite (!) but I really love the new Best Birds stamp set and coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits Dies.  I couldn’t wait to get them, and they arrived just in time!  There are several bird stamps and dies but I just chose one bird to feature today.  I stamped and watercolored the bird using watercolor paper, and then ran it through the Big Shot with the coordinating die.

Hop 1

Under the little bird’s feet, do you see the new Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon and Very Vanilla Lace Trim?  I love ribbon and lace ~ and DOILIES!!  Look at the little bit of a new Delicate Lace Doily tucked under the ribbon ~ so cute!

Hop cu

The beautiful background here is a piece of the new Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper (one of my favorites!)  Isn’t it gorgeous?  The little banner is a watercolor wash of Peekaboo Peach on a piece of Watercolor Paper and then stamped with a sentiment from the Best Birds set.

Aren’t you blown away by the beautiful products in our new Annual Catalog?  To see more, click on the photo of the catalog on the right side of my blog and browse away 🙂

Stepping Out With Textures ~ Pals May Blog Hop!

2016badge-watermelon

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2016.  We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the lineup on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop 1

Today’s card gives you a preview of some of the new items you will find in the 2016-18 Annual Catalog going live on June 1st!  I’ve used these items and added LOTS of texture!

Hop Best 2

Most of the papers on today’s card are brand new ~ whee!  The base of the card is Whisper White card stock.  Then layered on the white are pieces of the new Dapper Denim card stock, Sweet Sugarplum card stock, and the fabulous new Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper.  All these layers have rough edges.  You can do this easily with your fingernail.  You can even tear the paper a bit for added texture.

Hop2 cu

Do you see the sparkly new designer washi tape?  It’s dotted with … copper!  I love it!  I used it to trim the smaller Sweet Sugarplum layer.   Other texture is added with our fabulous Timeless Textures stamp set and some Crumb Cake ink.

Blog Hop cu22

Spring is flowers, and beautiful bulbs peeking through the soil, behind the lattice.  This card tells a bit of a story of spring!

Hop Envie

The Striped Scallop Thinlits Die makes a pretty lattice.  For this card, I cut the lattice from Whisper White card stock and sponged it with Blushing Bride ink.

Blog Hop good

The sentiment on this card is from the Rose Wonder Photopolymer stamp set.  This set is full of great sentiments, and this is one I really like.  See all the Stampin’ Up! items used to create this card in the list below.  Then try this card and see how it goes!
