Sneak Peek for Easter!

Oh boy!  Over the past weekend I was able to get the new 2017-18 Annual Catalog early AND order some items!!  Well, I got a big box from the UPS man today and whee–fun stuff was inside!  I want to show you a few sneak peeks from my box 🙂  I’ve mixed a bit of the new with a bit of the retiring items!

So, what’s new?  Can you spot the items?  First, the sentiment is punched out with a brand new punch called the Pretty Label Punch (it really is pretty!).  Do you see the Gold Faceted Gems?  Big and bold and bling – love them!!  And then finally, there’s a brand new In Color cardstock called Powder Pink.  It’s a gorgeous color and seems to be almost a neutral…it blends with anything. Here on my card it forms the panel behind the dsp and the punched label.

Now for the retiring items. 🙂  The sentiment is from the Suite Sentiments set.  It’s a lovely sentiment and all of the stamps in the set are great.  And the fonts are really nice!  If you need a good sentiment set, this is one worth getting.

The paper has been one of my favorites from the Occasions Catalog, it’s the Cupcakes & Carousels dsp (right now 40% OFF!), and the bigger label with gold is from the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishments Kit (right now 30% OFF!).

Happy Easter Message!

You know, Easter is a happy message!  I like it that the stamp set I used for this card is called “Easter Message” and this is a happy Easter card!

It’s a beautiful stamp set ~ I love these lilies!  This was an easy card to make using a few ink pads and a blender pen.  The lilies were stamped with Pear Pizzaz ink to start.  Then I just filled them in by coloring using the blender pen and picking up a little ink from the lid of the ink pads.

And, of course, I had to add a bit of the gorgeous Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper!  Don’t forget, the Assorted Glimmer Paper Pack is FREE through March 31st with a $50 order!  Don’t miss out, order soon!

Do you stamp a little something on your envelope?  I like to.  It just gives a little hint of what’s inside 🙂  If we are sending a special handmade greeting card, I just think it’s nice to add a little something on the envelope.  For today’s card I stamped a few lilies on the envelope corner.

Happy Easter!

Lamby

Lambs.  The true Easter is about lambs.  One Lamb to be specific, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.  Easter is a precious time for me, and I love to focus on lambs.  So, I make lamb cards!

Happy Easter.cu

Is this little lamb darling or what?  Almost every Easter I bring out my little lamb cards and have classes on how to make them.  When we make them at class, we each make two cards, and guess what happens??  We end up with a FLOCK!!

flock1.jpg

To make the lambs, you will need a scallop circle die.  Stampin’ Up! doesn’t make these, so I purchased another brand.  That makes your lamb’s body.  You then emboss his body with a flowery or baroque embossing folder.  His wooly head is punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch and embossed with the same embossing folder.  A little sponging with Crumb Cake ink makes his wool look a bit more realistic 🙂

Happy Easter.1

His face and ears are punched with a small oval punch and I added little google eyes (SO cute!).  Tie a little knot or bow from any thin ribbon and adhere to his top knot.  It’s an easy and fun little card to make.  I love to display my card around the house as it reminds me of the TRUE Easter.  God bless you!

Fall Hello for the Pals!

PPA265 Peggy

The Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge this week is great because it’s easy ~ yes, easy.  You can do almost anything with it.  It’s one of those sketches that’s fun and freeing!

PPA265

So, for my card I cut the rectangle shape from Very Vanilla and edged it with one of the stamps from the Tin of Cards set.  I love this border stamp, it’s hidden among some strong sentiment stamps, but it is a great versatile stamp.

PPA 265 cu

These cute leaves were made with the Leaflets Framelits Dies and the Big Shot Machine.  For the leaves I used watercolor paper and washed it with ink using the Aqua Painter.  After the paper dried I cut out the leaves.

PPA 265 2

I’m sure you’ve noticed the pretty wooden element at the center of the bow.  That’s one of the new Snowflake Elements available I’m the Holiday Catalog!  It just looked so fall-ish made of that wood, that it fit perfectly with the theme of this card!

Pop over to palspaperarts.com and see what the other designers have done.  While you’re there, enter your own card!  See you there!

Sweet Spring Gift Boxes!

Wisteria cu

Hi Friends!  Hope you each had a wonderful weekend.  I’ve been busy making some sweet Curvy Keepsake Boxes for Spring gift giving.

Two Keepsakes

One box is made from Wisteria Wonder card stock and the other one from So Saffron.  For a …big…embellishment on each one ~ a flower and some leaves made with the Bouquet Bigz Die.  I also added some Gold Sequin Trim and Venetian Crochet Trim.

Saffron Keepsake

Each box is tied with Gold Baker’s Twine, and the flowers are attached with Mini Metallic Clothespins.  I put a tiny gift inside each box and gave them as little Easter gifts 🙂

Happy Easter!

Mary Easter Ivy

He is risen, He is risen indeed!  That’s what the early church used as their greeting on Resurrection Sunday, so that’s how I greet you today.  I’m honored to be Mary Fish’s guest stamper and to bring you my card celebrating this special day.

Mary Easter bench

Pastel rosebuds seem so appropriate, don’t you think?  I made them using a small portion of card stock cut with the Spiral Flower Die (the thin section at the outer edge of the die).  The gold thread is pulled out from a piece of Gold Baker’s Twine.  And the pretty white and gold flower bed is created using the Bojo Blossoms Punch and a few pearls.

Mary Easter close up

What are you doing today?  I’d love to hear!  I’m going to church and then to a nice brunch with my family — yumm, and no dishes, yippee!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful Easter!

Pretty Spring Candles!

Candles3short

These ordinary pillar candles have quickly become pretty spring candles just by adding some Stampin’ Up! embellishments!  I love these glass candlesticks I got last fall.  I’d wanted candlesticks like these for a long time and I finally found just what I wanted.  So, as winter has turned to spring I find that I’m just not ready to put them away.  Hmm…then I got the idea to tie some of our gorgeous Stampin’ Up! ribbons on my candles, and voila, spring candles!!

Candle1gold

Each one is a little different from the others.  The one just above is tied with Blushing Bride 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon and Gold Sequin Trim.

Candle1This small candle is tied with the same Chevron Ribbon and 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in the very bright Daffodil Delight.  The pink and the yellow together look SO nice!

You’ll notice that underneath each candle is a Tea Lace Doily which gives a sweet, lacy look.  Now I can keep out my candle holders and they’ve become a great spring decoration!  Whee!

Pretty Easter Basket!

Basket.2

Need to make a quick Easter gift?  Need a few little Easter baskets?  This is the perfect thing for you – a quick creation with supplies you have on hand – easy!  So how do you make this cute little basket?

This basket is made from a 9″ x 9″ piece of cardstock or designer series paper.  I used Brights Designer Series Paper but you could use any paper you have on hand.  Using your Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score your paper at 3″ and 6″, then turn and score the other side in the same manner.  For a wonderful tutorial on making these baskets, visit my fellow Pal, Penny Nichols’ blog, Sierra Stampin!

Here’s a close up of one of the sides of the basket:

Basket.cu

The great thing about these baskets is that you can choose all your own colors and embellishments.  And as I said, I really just used things I had on hand.  It took me about 20 minutes to make this.  I’m stuffing it with a card and some goodies for a darling family I know 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Pretty Paper Cards!

Blessings,

Peggy
