Sneak Peek: Some Daisy Love!

So, I needed a wedding card this week. Now I’m a card maker, and I could make a white and gold wedding card…that would be nice. But it’s a spring wedding, and this new Delightful Daisy Suite is calling to me: pretty designer series paper and a fun new daisy punch!

Oh my, I love it!! This Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper is fabulous and it makes such a sweet background to this spring wedding card. For the daisy, there are actually four (4) punched daisies layered on top of each other. They are alternated, one Whisper White card stock daisy, one Shimmery White card stock (watercolored with Flirty Flamingo ink) daisy, and then again the same. A large Silver Faceted Gem sits in the center of the daisy 🙂

Behind the daisy is a silver Metallic Doily and some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon. That gives it some wedding elegance, don’t you think? The die cut sentiment is cut from Wisteria Wonder card stock using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies. These dies are carrying over from the current catalog and are available now!

What do you think of my spring wedding card? It’s not traditional, but I think this couple will like it 🙂 And I sure had fun using this new daisy suite!

The new items will be available on June 1st, but in the meantime:

Soft Valentine from a Friend!

Sometimes I receive lovely cards in the mail, and today I want to share one with you!  This card was made by my friend and downline, Su Mohr!

Su is a master at using designer series paper, and you can tell by the way she’s used it on this card.

The die cut “love” is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I “love” the Blushing Bride card stock she’s used here.  So sweet!

Thank you, Su, for the wonderful Valentine!

Hearts of Gold!

Love R

What a clean and simple Valentine!  I made this when a few of us got together and my friend Linda brought this as a make and take.  I fell in love!  🙂

Love standing L

It’s not hard to make.  The word “love” is die cut from Gold Foil using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  It is attached to the Whisper White panel using Dimensionals.

Love standing

Three different heart stamps from various sets were heat embossed in gold, as was the tiny word “you.”

And a pretty red heart finishes off this card.  Don’t you love it?  Shhh…don’t tell my husband, but this is going to be his Valentine card from me!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have fun making your Valentines!

Paisleys & Posies!

Bless angled down L

We had a great time at my card classes this past weekend!  This is one of the cards we made.  Personally I’m happy to be getting a head start on my Thanksgiving cards.  I don’t send them so much as I hand them to my friends in the weeks just before Thanksgiving, to let them know that I’m thankful for their friendship 🙂

Bless flat envif

The sentiment from this set is so perfect for people you love and appreciate.  On this card it is heat embossed with white embossing powder on a strip of Cajun Craze cardstock.  I love the way the white really stands out.

Bless angled L

The Crushed Curry layer was stamped in Cajun Craze ink with the largest paisley stamp in the set.  The paisleys look so fun just freely stamped all over!

Bless flat 2

The leaves were cut with the Flourish Thinlits.  I used some Copper Foil which blends beautifully with the other colors on the card.

Do you send Thanksgiving cards?  I’d like to know, and if you do, who do you send or give them to?  Thanks for stopping by today!

The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder on vellum.  The pretty wreath is from the You’re So Lovely Project Kit.  I think that’s been one of my favorite kits this year.

Happily Ever After!

Happily angled

It’s time for weddings and wedding cards! y I always try to have a few wedding cards on hand, especially at this time of year.  We made this card at my classes last weekend…thought I’d show you what we did!

Stampin’ Up! has some very beautiful stamps.  You know that 🙂  I think the stamps used on this card are two of the prettiest!  This large sentiment is from the Big News stamp set and it’s been embossed with silver embossing powder to make it extra shimmery.  It’s a bit hard to see in the picture, but the embossing is very pretty.

Happily 1

The other stamp the covers the background is the gorgeous Blended Bloom stamp.  It is stamped in Smoky Slate which has been stamped off once.  It leaves such a nice soft light grey flower outline ~ I love it!

Pretty Pointer:  For wedding and anniversary cards, you can’t lose with white and silver or gold.  And embossing the silver or gold is definitely the way to go.

And, add bling!  Rhinestones, glimmer paper, satin ribbon, it all adds to the elegance of your card.  Do you notice that this card would work well for either a wedding or an anniversary?  This is the best kind of card to have around and ready!!

ONLY A FEW WEEKS LEFT BEFORE RETIRING ITEMS ARE GONE FOREVER!!

Goodbye

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Here at Pretty Paper Cards we’ve dressed up formal for the occasion ~ cute little tuxedo bow ties and some sparkle!  I wish you a wonderful New Year!

Tuxedo cu

My husband is the one who said these little bows look like tuxedo bows.  I didn’t even see it!  But I think he’s definitely right, and now I like the card even more!  You may be noticing little sparkles in my photos today.  It’s a photo technique and I thought it would be perfect for New Year’s!

Tuxedo Bows Envie Best

Of course you are seeing some sneak peeks of new items from the Occasions Catalog!  I can see that I’m going to be crazy over the fun Bow Builder Punch.  I can’t even stop using it!  Not sure if you can see the hearts which are embossed on the Basic Black card stock, but it’s the prettiest new embossing folder called Happy Heart Textured Impressions.

Bridal Envelope Book!

Bridal Book 6

Oh dear, it’s been a few days since I’ve posted to my blog!  I’ve been working hard in my craft room making an envelope book for a sweet bride!  Here are some photos of the various pages.

Kindalls Bridal Book 1

The bride’s colors are purple, silver/grey, and black.  Bet you can guess which beautiful new color I used…yep, Blackberry Bliss!!

Bridal Book 4

So, an envelope book is a little book made with envelopes.  You trim off the envelope flap and then each envelope becomes a page of the book!  At the bridal shower, each person attending writes a prayer or some advice for the new bride on a little card and slips it into one of the envelopes.  The bride goes home with a beautiful book filed with prayers and encouragement for her new life!

Bridal Book 5

Silly me, I was working on the book right up to the last minute, and I forgot to take a photo of the cover and the completed book 🙁  So today I only have copies of the pages for you.  I’m so sorry.

Bridal Book 2

There were 8 pages in the book and I decorated the front and back of each envelope/page, as well as the cover of the book.  Most everything in my craft room was out all over the place!  There’s really too much to give you all the details, but if you have any questions, just leave a comment or email me and I’ll tell you what I used.

Here is a link to the other bridal envelope book I made earlier this year.  It shows the completed book and the cover.  CLICK HERE to see it.

Happily Ever After!

Wedding 3

It’s the time for weddings, and I’m going to a wedding next weekend.  I need a card ~ perfect opportunity to play with my new “Big News” stamp set  One reasons I got this set is because I love this beautiful wedding sentiment.  I embossed it using Silver Embossing Powder on Whisper White card stock and it is WOW!!  It’s a bit hard to see in photographs, but that sentiment is spectacular!

Wedding 1This photo shows the sparkly silver a bit better.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  then there’s a layer of Silver Foil Paper and then embossed White Vellum.  I’m crazy about the new embossing folder, Lovely Lace.

This card is gorgeous on its own.  All it needs is a fun gift card inside, right?

Wedding 2

Hope the Bride likes this fun sparkly silver card!  Do you have a wedding to attend this summer?  Leave me a note, I’d love to know what kind of card you made:-)

Stampin’ Up! Supplies You Will Need to Make This Card:
Stamps:  Big News
Paper:  Whisper White cardstock, Silver Foil Paper, White Vellum, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink:  Versamark and Silver Embossing Powder
Tools:  Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Squares Collection Framelits, Lovely Lace Embossing Folder, Itty Bitty Punch Pack
Other Goodies:  Tea Lace Doily, Glue Dots, Tombow White Glue

Beautiful Blue!

PPA210 bench

Beautiful blues for the Pals today!  If you sit down to make a card and wonder what to make, challenges are a great way to get your creative mind going.  The colors of this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge formed the basis of my plan for this card 🙂  Here is the pretty color palette:

PPA210colorchartd

In the photo below you can really see the contrast of all three colors.  Aren’t they pretty together?

PPA210 cu

Pretty Pointer:  Use stamps to create your own designer paper!  For the background on this card I used one of the stamps from the Hello Darling stamp set.  Just repeat it all over the background and, voila!  You have a beautiful designer paper!

Try it yourself, and let me know how it turns out — better yet, send me a photo!  I love to receive photos of your beautiful creations!  I will post them too.  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
