Summer Watercolored Rose

Ok, I’ll just say it, I love roses! My front walkway is lined with roses, and right now they are blooming their little hearts out! We actually didn’t even plant the roses, they were here when we bought our house, and I couldn’t be happier 🙂

This stamp set is called Graceful Garden and it has the most beautiful rose stamps! For today’s card, the biggest rose in the set was first stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I took an Aqua Pen and lightly watercolored the rose and the leaves.

Pretty Pointer: Heat embossing the outline of a stamp confines water within the lines of the stamped image. Give this a try on your next watercolor project!

If you love beautiful flowers, this is definitely the set for you!

Sparkle for the Remarkable Inkbig Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Blog Hop for July 2017. This month our theme is “SPARKLE”.  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Peggy Noe, or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Peggy Noe.

Sparkle! Who doesn’t love sparkle? What a fabulous theme for our blog hop! A Gold Striped Treat Bag is the beginning of my “sparkle” project today. These bags are so much fun to embellish!

I used the pretty Berry Burst as an accent color and made a tag of Berry Burst card stock. The tag is adorned with a “lovely” heart cut from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Lovely Words thinlits dies. The gold really sparkles against the berry!

A strip of 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in Berry Burst runs along the lower white stripe. Sparkly rhinestones line the ribbon strip.

Pretty Pointer: Do something different with your supplies. Use an item in an unusual way, the way the ribbon above is used in a way you wouldn’t expect. It gives an element of surprise to your project!

These bags are so nice for treats and little gifts. You can put almost anything in them. What’s your suggestion? Obviously, a cookie, a few candies, a nice bar of soap, some tea bags… I’d love to hear more! Leave me a comment and tell me what you would use this bag for 🙂

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog – Peggy Noe, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.

Lemon Lime Hugs!

Who doesn’t like hugs? I love hugs, especially from my husband 🙂 And others like hugs too, particularly people who are feeling down or going through hard things. That’s why I like this sentiment, because it conveys so much that other words really can’t.

The Lovely Words Thinlits Dies have three great words that can be used in different ways. You can see what the dies look like below. They are backwards in this photo 🙂 For today’s card I snipped the word “hugs” out of the circle after the die was cut.

But you don’t have to snip the words out. Look at the other ways you can use the dies below. Aren’t they fun?

To add interest to today’s card I used some Embossing Paste. I’m just loving this stuff. I want to use it on every card! Ha!

Don’t forget about July Bonus Days! For every $50 order, you receive a coupon for $5 off your purchase in August! This is one of the ways during the year to save on Stampin’ Up!’s fabulous products. Take advantage of this while you can!

Today is the Perfect Day to be Happy! (ttt005)

Today is another exciting Tic Tac Toe Challenge! These challenge boards are so much fun. I love the fact that we get to choose the elements we want to use! For my card I’ve chosen the top row across: circle – summer – ribbon.

For the circle element I actually used two circles. The lower circle is punched out with the Sunburst Punch, and the inside circle was die-cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Pretty Pointer:  Framing your sentiment always makes a statement. Whether your sentiment is on a square shape, a circle, or an oval, add a framing layer either in front or behind your sentiment piece. It will add a finished look to your project.

For the summer element I used the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. This particular sheet of dsp has a light summery look which is perfect!

Ribbon, beautiful ribbon! That’s one reason I chose the top row across the tic tac toe board…I really love ribbon! In yesterday’s post I told you that the 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding is my absolute favorite ribbon in the new Annual Catalog 🙂  So when I have the opportunity to choose ribbon, I HAVE TO use my favorite, right???

So what about you? Will you come over and join us? The Tic Tac Toe Challenge is fun and easy and we would love for you to enter! I’ll look for you over there at tictactoechallenge.com!

Live, Laugh, and Love on the Fourth!

Happy Independence Day Friends! What a great day to express love and enjoy life and laughter with friends and family!

This sentiment from the Layering Love stamp set is perfect for today’s card. Aren’t big bold sentiments fun? There’s not much you have to do to make a pretty card if you use a big sentiment 🙂

Pretty Pointer:  It’s easy to make a card when you gather all your elements together. I like to do this, and then come up with my card design. The colors and patterns are so beautiful together and they can be very inspiring 🙂  That’s one thing Stampin’ Up! is known for, having lovely color-coordinated papers, inks, and embellishments!

The strip of stars was made using a little multi-star stamp from the Tabs for Everything stamp set. Real Red ink is the perfect ink for this theme. A sheet from the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper makes a perfect background for the rest of the card.

A Simple WOW Card With Colorful Seasons!

Stampin’ Up!’s Colorful Seasons stamp set is an all-around great set. It has stamps depicting every season of the year, and great sentiments that you don’t find too often…like the sentiment on today’s card.

Today’s card is a SNAP to make and has a big WOW factor! How do you create a simple WOW card? Bright colors and a bold sentiment ~ those are key!

Pretty Pointer ~ Make a quick, fun ribbon tie! Here the gorgeous Lemon Lime Twist ribbon is wrapped once around the center of a 2-1/2″ square Whisper White panel with long ends left loose on the left side. A piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine is used to tie the ends together, first in a knot to secure them tightly and then with a bow to finish it off.

The picture below shows you all the great stamps and dies included in this bundle. This is a set I’ll definitely be using into fall and winter ~ I mean, look at those pretty leaves and snowflakes! And that adirondack chair is so cute!!

In fact, if you like to get started on holiday cards early (like July!) this would be a great stamp set to start with 🙂

Coffee With a Friend!

Spending time at a little coffee shop with a good friend is one of my favorite things to do. It’s nice to go to an out-of-the-way place, the kind without big crowds, where you can chat and relax for a bit.

Yesterday I was able to do that with a dear friend and I made her this special card to let her know how much I enjoyed our time together 🙂 I have to say I love this Coffee Cafe stamp set and framelits! I had so much fun making this card with the cute little heart paper and the coffee bean leaves!

And what do you think about that cardboard-looking sleeve for the coffee cup? The framelits make that! I used Crumb Cake card stock ~ didn’t it come out so realistic?

Oh My Goodness, Graceful Garden!

It’s true, oh my goodness I love this stamp set! I love roses and this is a set of beautiful roses and leaves. Every day as I sit in my craft room I look out a window to my rose garden (I know, it sounds like an old song!). We didn’t even plant it, it was here when we bought the house, and it is such a pleasure to look out at the roses every day!

The background for today’s card was fun and easy to do. Actually I used our Pattern Party Decorative Masks and sponged Flirty Flamingo ink over the mask with a Thumb Dauber. I used a fun Host Stamp Set called Background Bits to add some more interest. It has a stamp with faint handwriting on it. Then I splattered the whole background with some Soft Suede ink. This is how you make your own designer series paper!

Ok, I just have to stop and show you my little stamping partner. Elie sleeps on her pink leopard blanket while I stamp. I called her name to get her to look up for this photo. I think she’s upset that I woke her up 🙂 Ok, back to my card…

Pretty Pointer: To add depth to a stamped image, use a Blender Pen to add more color. On this rose, I stamped it first in Flirty Flamingo and then went back in with some Powder Pink ink and my blender pen to give more substance to the flower.

Graceful Garden Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Item No. 143849  $19.00

To add even more interest I shredded some of the Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon and laid it across the card below a strip of the same ribbon. It acts like a surprise ~ when you see it, you think ooh, look at that fun stuff 🙂
