Countdown to the Catalog with Crafting Forever!

This is our last countdown day! Tomorrow the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog goes live and we can order anything! I’m so excited! Even as demonstrators we can only order limited items early, so we are all just as excited as our customers 🙂

Crafting Forever is one of the sets we received prior to the live catalog and I have to say I really like it! I think every crafter is going to want this set. And the sentiment used on today’s card is my advice and encouragement for you: Do something creative everyday! For me it is really important to create, it relaxes me and gives me some time by myself. That’s important in our busy world 🙂

I especially wanted to show you this card today as it features the new 2017-2019 In Colors. Each color is “washed” over Watercolor Paper with an Aqua Painter. It creates a nice background for the pot of brushes, don’t you think?

Are you ready for tomorrow? Do you have your wish list made out? I do, but I keep changing it!!

Stampin’ Up! has a special incentive for the month of June ~ for any order of $350 or more you will receive a bonus reward of $35!  You will already earn Stampin’ Rewards of 12% on your $350 order, that’s $42. Add on top of that there will be the $35 bonus, so you will receive $77 in FREE PRODUCT of your choice from the brand new catalog!! WOW! You will probably want to rework your wish list now, like I did!!

In the next few days I’m going to be posting my 10 favorite items from the new catalog, so be watching!

Countdown to the New Catalog!

This is a very exciting week~ the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog goes live this Thursday, June 1st! So many exciting pretty new things ~ wow!

Today I want to show you the new Lovely Words Thinlits Dies that will be available to you on June 1st. I love word dies, and I really like these because they not only have words, but each word is set in a shape! You can use them as is or cut the word out of its shape, as I did for my card above.

You can see in the picture above the three words and two of them are shown in their shapes. “Lovely” is set in a heart, “friend” is set in an oval, and (not shown) “hugs” is set in a circle. Basically you have two options for each die!

Actually, this card is made entirely of dies! The flowers and leaves are from the May Flowers Framelits. These are carrying over from last year and I’m glad because they are so nice.

Pretty Pointer:  White on white is very powerful. You don’t see it often, so when you do it really makes a statement. Here the flowers are lifted off the page with Stampin’ Dimensionals, which even adds more to the card and gives it some depth.

The flower centers are the new Glitter Enamel Dots. These have been so popular just with the demonstrators (we can order some catalog items early), that they are all gone! But, we’e got you covered! Tons of them are expected in the second week of June, so keep them on your list ~ you’re gong to love them!

Come back tomorrow! Each day this week I’m going to be previewing some items from the new catalog! If you haven’t already, get your wish list started!

Sneak Peek: Some Daisy Love!

So, I needed a wedding card this week. Now I’m a card maker, and I could make a white and gold wedding card…that would be nice. But it’s a spring wedding, and this new Delightful Daisy Suite is calling to me: pretty designer series paper and a fun new daisy punch!

Oh my, I love it!! This Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper is fabulous and it makes such a sweet background to this spring wedding card. For the daisy, there are actually four (4) punched daisies layered on top of each other. They are alternated, one Whisper White card stock daisy, one Shimmery White card stock (watercolored with Flirty Flamingo ink) daisy, and then again the same. A large Silver Faceted Gem sits in the center of the daisy 🙂

Behind the daisy is a silver Metallic Doily and some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon. That gives it some wedding elegance, don’t you think? The die cut sentiment is cut from Wisteria Wonder card stock using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies. These dies are carrying over from the current catalog and are available now!

What do you think of my spring wedding card? It’s not traditional, but I think this couple will like it 🙂 And I sure had fun using this new daisy suite!

The new items will be available on June 1st, but in the meantime:

May Paper Pumpkin Unboxing and Save 25%!

Oh boy, the May Paper Pumpkin is dar-ling!! It’s donut cards! What? Donut cards? Yes, cute little circle cards with striped bags to put them in! Just like at the donut shop! Here’s a photo of the kit all put together according to the instructions.

But you know I had to step it up, right? I had some of these new Bitty Bows (available in the new catalog) just sitting on my desk and I had to add one to this donut card…and a few pearls goes with a bow, right?

Here it is all tied up in it’s envelope. I used some new ribbon to tie it up 🙂

And then there are some light blue circle cards (without donut holes!), and I just bling’d them up a bit.

For the card above, I added some of the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers to the inside of the circle. The kit comes with the cute little flowers but I added Gold Faceted Gems to the centers. I really like the way it turned out, it sure doesn’t look like a donut anymore 🙂

Now you don’t have to do what I did. The kit is adorable just the way it is. But I like to show you a few alternate things to do. There are so many possibilities!

And right now you can get a 25% discount if you are a new subscriber (offer good only through June 10th)

Use Promo Code STARTHERE when you subscribe here to get your 25% discount (for new subscribers).

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sneak Peek: New Label Me Pretty and Coordinating Punch!

In just a little more than 2 weeks the new 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog will be released! I’m trying to show you as many new items as I can to help you get your wish lists ready. Today’s sneak peek is a new stamp set called Label Me Pretty, and the coordinating punch.

I really love this kind of oval scalloped punch. And right in the center is the perfect spot for a sentiment, either stamped by itself or onto an inset circle. For this card I used a little die from the Layering Circles Thinlits.

Oh, I almost forgot! This card also has some of the new Fresh Fig 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon and it’s matching Bitty Bow!! Isn’t it adorable!!

In advance of the new catalog, Stampin’ Up! has released the Eastern Palace Suite early. Click the picture below to find out how you can get these early release bundles!

If you don’t have a new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and you don’t have your own demonstrator, please CLICK HERE to email me and I will mail one to you right away! You will love it!

Darling Lemon Lime Tags!

I’m really liking this new Lemon Lime Twist In Color. It’s so bright and fun — I just can’t stop using it!

Each month my local customers get handmade tags on their Stampin’ Up! bags. (My out-of-town customers get handmade thank you cards!) These are the tags I’m making for May! I would love for YOU to be my customer! Just place an order with me by CLICKING HERE. As soon as you place an order through me, you will become my customer and I will send you a personal handmade thank you card! (Please do not indicate “No Contact” or I won’t be able send you a card.)

The Scallop Tag Topper Punch I used on the top of these tags is one of my favorite punches. The scallops are so pretty and it automatically punches the little hole in the top of the tag! It’s a punch I’ll be keeping for a long time!

There’s a fabulous new stamp set in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and it’s called Crafting Forever. It’s perfect for crafters. I love the sentiment I used here on the tags…love the sentiment and love the curly font!

I’m not kidding, start making your Wish List  now if you haven’t already, because this new catalog has so many great new products!! Serious! Look at the gold scallops  across the top of the tag. That’s a sticker from the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers!! How easy is it to just put a sticker on a tag or card? 🙂

Introducing: Prettypapercards by Mail!

INTRODUCING:  Prettypapercards by Mail!

People love coming to the card classes that I hold in my home, and I love having them! I would love to have YOU come to one of my classes! But because that’s not really possible unless you live in the San Diego area, I want to bring my classes to YOU!

Prettypapercards by Mail is just that ~ we will make cards together! I will design 3 cards all made from the same stamp set (one that I love!), I will send you the stamp set used in that month’s cards and all the papers, die cuts, ribbons and embellishments you will need to make the cards I’ve designed.  You will also receive via email a pdf tutorial with detailed instructions and photos and comments from me on how to make the cards! Sometimes I’ll include a video, depending on the month.

And, on top of all that, I will make one of those three cards and include it with your kit, just for you with a personal note!

Here is a little peek at the cards you will make in May!

It will be just as if you are at one of my classes! If you were actually here, I would bring you into my craft room and we would sit down at my craft table. I would have a sample card for you that I put on my little clipboard in front of you and I would give you everything you need to make that card. Then we would sit together and I would help you make it, giving you tips and pointers along the way! We will probably need a cup of coffee or tea while we craft together, I always have that – plus some little goodies!!

Pals Blog Hop: Textures or Techniques

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and want you to enjoy our creations!

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all the projects.

My card today focuses on both texture and technique, and it uses some continuing products and some new products! Let’s talk about texture. A card can be fun and interesting because of the texture on the card.

To add texture to my card I used the Petal Burst Embossing Folder on a panel of Shimmery White card stock. Then I watercolored the panel with Sweet Sugarplum ink. You can see how the ink filled in the white space between the petals in some places and not in other places ~ this also adds texture!

Pretty Pointer: Shimmery White card stock is perfect for times when you want to both watercolor and use an embossing folder. It is a paper that is recommended for watercoloring and is also thin enough to go through an embossing folder.

For more texture, I added some of the brand new 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in the new In Color, Berry Burst (loving this ribbon!). I topped that with some Very Vanilla 1/2′ Lace Trim and finished it all off with an open lacy-looking flower. The “lovely” die cut sentiment is from the brand new Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.

All the details of the items I used are at the bottom of this post. Hope this gives you some ideas for adding texture to your own projects!

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Sneak Peek: Ribbon of Courage!

This is going to be one of the most popular stamp sets in the new catalog (my prediction!). It’s called Ribbon of Courage and it was designed by $1 million dollar salesperson, Patty Bennett. Today I’m only showing you one of the sentiments in the set, but you’ll be seeing more for sure! This particular sentiment is so nice, it’s actually something I would say to someone, that’s what I love about it.

And, I’ve got more sneak peeks for you!! What do you think about the pretty flowered paper? It’s the new Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack in all the new In Colors! The one I’m using today is Powder Pink. It’s paired with a background panel of Sweet Sugarplum card stock.

Ok, now, for the third sneak peek! Just behind the sentiment circle is a watercolored paper punched with the new…….(wait for it!)….Pretty Punch!  It was just made for pretty paper cards!! I got the Pretty Punch in my preorder and really like the size and the scalloped edges. For the punched piece, I used Watercolor Paper and an Aqua Pen. I brushed water on the paper first and then added three different inks: Sweet Sugarplum, the new Berry Burst, and Flirty Flamingo. I really like the way they blended together.

Are you getting excited about all the goodies in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog? Well I can tell you I’m excited! The catalog goes live on June.

Would You Like a New Catalog?

Would you like a copy of the new catalog? If you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I’d love to be your demonstrator and would be happy to send you a new catalog.
