Guy’s Eclipse Birthday Card!

Stampin' Up! Large Letter Framelits - Peggy Noe - stampinupWhat IS an eclipse card? It’s also called the hidden words technique. Letters of a word are raised up out of the rest of the card, and the letters look like they are hidden but coming right up out of the paper.

Stampin' Up! Large Letters Framelits Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

I just got the Large Letter Framelits Dies so of course I had to make an eclipse card! Actually, this was an easy card to make. It’s for a guy, so I used a blue (Dapper Denim) paper with an accent of Lemon Lime Twist. I lined up the letters on the paper and ran it through the Big Shot.

Stampin' Up! Handmade Envelope Eastern Palace - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Then I added a handmade envelope because the shape of my card wasn’t standard. Don’t even ask me about the dimensions…I just formed the envelope around the card 🙂 To trim the envelope I used a stamp from the Badges & Banners stamp set and punched it out with the Best Badge Punch.

Stampin' Up! Eclipse Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

This was such a fun card to make! FYI, once you cut the letter out of the paper, layer the paper over a piece of a contrasting color. Then place the letters back in their openings, using our Foam Adhesive Strips. That’s it! Easy, right?

October Birthday Card for Tic Tac Toe!

Stampin' Up! Birthday Card Happiest of Days - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Welcome to a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge! This week I am privileged to be the featured designer. Here’s the board I came up with. I put in some of my favorite things…lace, pink, sequins, ribbon…well, everything! 🙂

And because I really like using these elements on my creations, I made my card using every square on the board! Well, I challenged myself.

Stampin' Up! Color Me Happy Happiest of Days - Peggy Noe - stampinup

I think my favorite thing on this card is the sweet little bird. He’s from the Color Me Happy stamp set which will be available, along with the new fabulous Stampin’ Blends, on November 1st! I’ve colored him with the Light Pink Pirouette and the Dark Pink Pirouette Blends. You know, coloring is just plain fun, and using these new alcohol markers makes it REALLY fun! Isn’t he the cutest?

Stampin' Up! Color Me Happy Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Fresh Fig is a great contrast to Powder Pink so I tried to stick with these two colors, and white. There are a few vellum leaves tucked in there, do you see them?  They were punched with the Leaf Punch. I also added one stem of leaves cut using the Flourish Thinlits Dies – these are the lacy looking leaves.

Embossing Paste Leaves!

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupI absolutely love the new leaf punch! There is so much you can do with it! For today’s project, I used it as a mask for embossing paste!Stampin' Up! Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Today’s cards are the ones we made at our one-day retreat, Create the Day Away, and I couldn’t wait for you to see them! One of our demonstrations was on using embossing paste in different ways.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

For this card we created a “mask” by punching a piece of Heavyweight Card Stock with the Leaf Punch. We laid the punched piece of card stock on top of the thin card stock panel and covered it with Embossing Paste. Lift up the mask and you are left with the embossing paste leaves!

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous It's Your Day Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

We made both of these cards so that we could use a different arrangement of the card elements and a different sentiment on each card.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Cards - Peggy Noe - stampinup

What do you think? Do you have any preference? Different options, different stamps, different combination of colors…and all quick and easy!

Give it a try! Punch your own leaves and use the punched piece as a mask for embossing paste. Send me a picture of your project ~ I’d LOVE to see it!

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Happy Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupOk, so this cake is too cute! I just have to use it! It’s from the Happiest of Days stamp set, my new favorite birthday set.

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Happy Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampin up

The elements of today’s card all sit on a panel of Flirty Flamingo card stock embossed with the Garden Trellis embossing folder. This is one of the sweetest embossing folders ~ everything looks so good with it!

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Birthday Wishes Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupTo add a bit more to this card, I’ve colored in a few places with ink pads and a blender pen.  This gives it a little personality 🙂

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampin up

Pretty Pointer:  A good way to add interest to your card is to highlight a stamped element. One way to do that is to fussy cut the stamped image, like I’ve done here with the birthday cake.

Delightful Daisy Gift Bag and Coordinating Card!

Stampin Up Daisy Delight Gift Bag Ideas - Peggy Noe StampinupDo you ever need a gift bag to coordinate with your gift card? Being a paper crafter, I like to create gift bags and cards that have a similar theme. Especially for a birthday.

Stampinup Daisy Delight Gift Bag Daisy Punch - Peggy Noe Stampin UpFor this gift I used a bag I had on hand and decorated it. Truthfully, this was the only color of bag I had. White or yellow or green might have worked better, but I can use what I have 🙂 First I stamped the white tissue paper with the daisy stamp using Crushed Curry Ink. Then I stamped some individual daisies on Whisper White card stock and punched them out with the Daisy Punch. They decorate the ribbon and the bag.

Pretty Pointer: The Daisy Delight Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Daisy Punch are sold together as a bundle for a 10% savings!!

Stampin Up Daisy Delight Birthday Card - Peggy Noe Stampinup

The coordinating birthday card uses the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, more punched daisies, and a few glittering gold leaves.

Stampin Up Daisy Delight Birthday Card Idea - Peggy Noe StampinupSNEAK PEEK ALERT! This sentiment is punched with the NEW Everyday Label Punch! Doesn’t it have a fun outline? This punch will be available from the Holiday Catalog starting September 1st! You will love it!!

Stampin Up Daisy Delight Birthday Cards Idea - Peggy Noe StampinupAnd don’t forget to decorate your envelope! Look how nice this envelope is with the flap covered in the same designer series paper!
