Coloring Inside the Lines!

Hi there!  How are you today?  Are you having a nice weekend?  I’ve been busy getting ready for On Stage San Diego.  This is a regional Stampin’ Up! Conference which is going to be held right here in San Diego on April 8th!  I’m getting super excited!

This weekend I’m making “swaps” for the event.  Cardmakers like cards, right?  Well when we get together we like to exchange cards and that’s called “swapping”!  So I’ve been designing and making my swap cards~fun!

Well, this isn’t my swap card (are you kidding, I can’t show you my card before the conference!), but it is a card I’ve been wanting to show you.  It’s made using the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper.  It’s like coloring paper for adult and, it sure makes a pretty card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Soft Valentine from a Friend!

Sometimes I receive lovely cards in the mail, and today I want to share one with you!  This card was made by my friend and downline, Su Mohr!

Su is a master at using designer series paper, and you can tell by the way she’s used it on this card.

The die cut “love” is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  I “love” the Blushing Bride card stock she’s used here.  So sweet!

Thank you, Su, for the wonderful Valentine!

Thanksgiving Table Setting!

Napkin cu

Just thought I’d pop in today to help you with your holiday preparations!!  If you are hosting a Thanksgiving meal like I am, you may want to make some name tags or pretty place holders.

Tgiving Place setting full

These napkin name tags were inspired by Artisan Amy O’Neill.  She created something similar and I took her idea and did my own thing.  Now, I know my napkin is a bit wrinkly…I plan on ironing all of them before I set the table!!! 🙂

Napkin cu alt

The pretty Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper makes a lovely napkin band.  The paper was cut at 2″ x 12,” wrapped around the napkin and affixed at the back.  On the front I layered a Delicate White Doily, a doily from the 2015-17 In Color Doilies, and topped with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  The stamp from the Basket of Wishes set is just what I feel about each of my family members coming to dinner!

And you know what?  It’s also how I feel about each one of you, my blog readers!  You are each a blessing to me and I thank you so much for faithfully reading my blog!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Vintage Christmas!

Tidings envie

Hello there!  I’m having fun here at Pretty Paper Cards playing with all the new Christmas stamps and papers!  This wonderful sentiment stamp i from the Christmas Pines set.  It took me a minute, but then I remembered the carol that uses this phrase ~ it’s God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen!

Tidings Flat

This card is old fashioned looking:  lace and stripes and gold curls!  And the beautiful Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla are such elegant colors!

Tidings angled L

The designer series paper is “This Christmas.”  Here I’ve used both sides of one of the beautiful sheets.  The front side is stripes and the back side (which I used on the envelope) is so vintage!

Tidings standing

The gold swirls on the right side are from the fabulous Cupcake Cutouts Framelits.  These swirls add a fun look to almost any card!

Tidings cu

Hope my cards are giving you some ideas for your own Christmas cards.  As I mentioned the other day, this year I’m determined to get mine done before December 1st.  And I’m trying different products to see what I like best… 🙂  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Sparkly Glitter Bird!

Glitter Bird angled cu

Hi there!  So I’m enamored with the new Best Birds stamp set.  I can’t stop using it!  Today I used another one of the bird stamps, and I tried out the branch and the sweet little dogwood flowers.  They were all cut with the coordinating dies.

Glitter Bird 1The bird was stamped on watercolor paper and watercolored using an Aqua Pen.  I used a Stampin’ Write Marker in Cajun Craze to color the beak.

Glitter Bird cu bird

I tried a new technique on this card using glue and glitter.  I mixed a bit of Tombow Glue and water on top of a clear block using an Aqua Pen.  Then I flicked the mixture off the Aqua Pen by hitting it against my finger.  I think I did too much flicking…because when I covered the card with glitter and shook it off, there was SO much glitter!!  I meant for it to just be a nice sprinkling 🙂  Oops!!

Glitter Bird cu dogwoodI love the little blossoms.  I’m not sure what type of blossoms they were meant to be, but I’m thinking they are cherry blossoms!  What do you think?

Sweet Little Box!

Pumpkin Box 1

This sweet little box uses one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors ~ Crisp Cantaloupe.  This is such a soft peach color.  Some people think it’s pink.  Have you been watching the fuss on the web about “The Dress” and whether it’s gold and white or blue and black??  Well I feel like this color is kind of like that…is it soft peach or soft pink?  What do you think?  🙂

This is actually the little box from this month’s My Paper Pumpkin.  The kit came with fold-out thank you cards that you insert into little envelope boxes.  I wanted to decorate one of the boxes for Spring, and this is what I came up with.

Pumpkin Box cu

The Artisan Embellishment Kit really did much of the work for me.  The tiny resin rosebuds, the fabric flowers and the doily are all from that kit.  The paper covering the box is from the 2013-15 In Color Paper Stack, and of course the feathers!  Don’t you just love our Four Feather stamp set and coordinating dies?  I fussy cut the tallest feather to give it more dimension.

Hello sweet blog readers!  You are sweet, and I so appreciate you ~ this card is dedicated to you!  Today I have more sneak peeks for you on this card and I’ll highlight them as we go along.

Now there’s something new on this card that I haven’t shown you before.  Can you spot it?  Yep ~ it’s a little rose from the beautiful Blushing Bride Rosette Trim that’s a part of the new Artisan Embellishment Kit (Sneak Peek!).  I know I’ll be using this a lot 🙂  And do you see the larger hearts that have been embossed with the new Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Sneak Peek!)?  Cute, cute!

Sweet 1

You may have noticed the colors we are using this year for Valentine’s Day, Calypso Coral, Real Red, and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I personally wouldn’t have thought of these colors together but I find that I’m loving the combination!  It’s refreshing!

Starry Kraft Snowflakes!

Starry Kraft card

If you haven’t used Kraft Cardstock, you seriously have to!  It has a rustic look that’s very contemporary.  I personally love it with white.  For this card I’ve used StazOn White Ink.  The pretty stars are from a stamp that came in the November My Paper Pumpkin.  The lower section of the card is White Vellum embossed with one of the Delicate Designs Embossing Folders.  I wanted to emboss the sentiment with white embossing powder but I’m OUT!  Can you believe it?  I’ve got to order some right away.  Just picture the sentiment a little brighter and shinier 🙂

Kraft Cardstock Item No. 133674

Kraft CardstockGive it a try!  I promise you’ll love it.  Thanks for stopping by today!
