Father’s Day is coming up and I was thinking that we should get a start on our cards, especially if we have to mail them. But of course we want to use some of our goodies from the new catalog, right?
The new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack is perfect for guy cards. It’s an assortment of 48 sheets of various double-sided woodgrain 6″ x 6″ sheets. I mean, it’s not just for guy cards (we’re going to make some pretty cards with it!) but it works well for guy cards 🙂
The die-cut “Happy” is from the new Happy Birthday Thinlits. The font on this thinlit sentiment is so nice. The words “Happy Birthday” are attached together on the die, but you can easily snip them apart and use the words separately like I did here.

The Badges & Banners stamp set and coordinating punch, along with the “father’s day” sentiment from Thoughtful Banners and it’s coordinating punch, finish off the card. I love punches, don’t you? I made this card in a snap because I could stamp and then punch out these elements!

This is the first time I’ve used the Blooms & Bliss dsp. I was surprised to find a sheet that worked for a masculine card, but this one worked well I thought.

Oh my goodness, I’m sure late getting my Father’s Day card made. I need to get this in the mail to my father-in-law today, so I had to zip out a card fast. But I’m telling you this one was a quickie. Here’s how you make it:
The pretty background DSP is English Garden, can you believe it? It;s perfect for a Father’s Day card with its warm colors. I think the little shapes almost look like thumbprints, what do you think?
The stamp set I used for this card is Crazy About You. It has such a good variety of sentiment stamps, and one of them is “Father’s Day.” I used that one stamp in between the lines of thumbprints on the DSP.
Coordination, Coordination: One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is the way everything coordinates and works together. This stamp set has coordinating thinlit dies that make every card you create with this set spectacular! The big word “happy” is cut out with one of the framelit dies and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Now the whole card repeats “Happy Father’s Day” ~ I love it!
If you need to quickly make a card, and in my cad, a Father’s Day card, just reach for this stamp set and you’re good to go!

This is a great Father’s Day card! And, it only took me about 10-12 minutes to put together! I’ve been so busy lately I forgot to play with my Paper Pumpkin Kit for May. Yesterday my husband said, “We need to send my dad a Father’s Day card,” and I knew just what to do! I quickly grabbed my Paper Pumpkin, did a ~whish, swish, whish~ just like on TV, and showed him my completed card. He was shocked that I could make such a nice card in such a short time! I love it because now it’s done and I don’t have to worry about it. I’ll pop it the mail tomorrow and it will arrive in plenty of time! Yippee!!
Don’t you think it’s cute? You get everything you need in the kit, including a little ink “spot” with the perfect matching ink color for the card. The Candy Dots on each side of the sentiment really brighten up the card. At first I forgot to put them on…here’s the card without the Candy Dots:
It looks very good this way too, but I think the dots make it really pop. It was so nice to make a card and not have to think about what to put where. Paper Pumpkin comes with everything, including the embellishments (always my favorite part!).
Paper Pumpkin is a wonderful pretty red box that arrives on your doorstep each month with everything you need to create a really sweet project (stamps, ink, accessories all cut and measured and ready for you)! And each one is new and different!
Paper Pumpkin is also a great monthly get away. You don’t have to prepare a thing, just open your box and play! It’s the PERFECT GIFT for anyone ~ mother, daughter, friend, or even YOU!! You want it, don’t you? I love mine!
