Pretty Thank You for Global Design Project!

Stampin' Up! Global Design Leaf Punch - Peggy Noe - stampinun

The Global Design Project has a fun color challenge this week!  We are to make a card using Old Olive Black, and Gold (pretty, fresh colors!) Here is their challenge:

The card I designed uses a watercolor wash of Old Olive ink. I think watercoloring with a main color is such a good way to start off any project.

I then stamped some leaves from the Painted Harvest stamp set using Black Memento ink. The leaves were then punched out with the leaf punch and colored with the NEW!! Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive! Be watching on November 1st when YOU can buy these fabulous new alcohol markers!!!

I also punched some Gold Foil leaves and placed them over a bit of Black Vintage Crochet Trim. The watercolored panel was adhered onto a piece of Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. I love the black background with polka dots!! These colors are so pretty together, I wouldn’t have ordinarily combined them but they are WOW!!

Go With Happiness! (GDP077)

Today’s card is a fun watercolor for the Global Design Project Challenge.  It’s a color challenge and below you can see the colors we are to use.

For my free choice color I picked Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper (love!).  It’s a bit hard in the photo to tell the difference between the Bermuda Bay flowers and the Mint Macaron Glimmer leaves, but look close and you’ll see it!

The pretty flower is from the So in Love stamp set and it’s heat embossed in white and then watercolored in detail using the Peekaboo Peach ink.  Here’s a close up:

The new little thing I did on this card is to add what looks like little water droplets.  They are made using the Fine Tip Glue Pen and just leaving little drops to dry.  I’d seen this technique elsewhere and wanted to try it.  I kind of like it, what do you think?

The sweet sentiments on the inside and outside of the card are from the Swan Lake stamp set.  I like sets with coordinating sentiments…they do all the work for you, right?

Thank you for stopping by today!  I’d love it if you would leave me a comment ~ I like comments 🙂  And please pop over to see what others have done at the Global Design Project.

Ombre Sympathy (GDP 069)

GDP L angled

Life happens during holidays; during the summer, at the beginning of a new year.  I have a friend whose mother passed away just after the new year started, and I wanted to make her a special card.

GDP envie

The colors for this card are the ones in this week’s Global Design Project Color Challenge.  I like them for this card because they’re not pastel or bright.  Even the silver in this combination looks a bit muted alongside the Delightful Dijon.

GDP069

For today’s card I used the new So In Love stamp set for the pretty background flower.  To get the ombre look, I just rolled the stamp a bit as I pressed down.  I fully pressed down on one side of the stamp, but only lightly pressed on the other side. That created a color from dark to light across the edges of the flower.

The stamped panel is topped with a similar-sized sheet of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.  The acetate sheets come in several patterns and I used the polka dots.  Each sheet has the pattern in gold on the front and silver on the back, so I obviously used the silver side 🙂

GDP standing

The Challenge calls for my “free choice” for the third color and I decided to use white.  As this is a sympathy card, it seemed more appropriate not to make it too bright.

More Christmas Blessings! (GDP065)

Ok, so I have a problem…I can’t stop using all of our fabulous Christmas stamps…and I can’t help but use our brand new stamps from the Occasions Catalog (available January 4th)!  To solve my problem I combined them!

The colors used on today’s card are from this week’s Global Design Project Color Challenge.  They are SO pretty for this season!

The pretty watercolored flowers and the little leaves are stamps from the new So In Love set.  And the sentiment is from the Christmas Pines set.  This is definitely my favorite Christmas sentiment.

The flowers are watercolored on watercolor paper.  To get the shading, I watercolored the flowers once and then when they dried I went back in a second time to darken portions of each flower.

As I’ve been sitting here posting, my sweet little Elie has been sitting on my lap looking up at me.  I want you to see what I’m seeing…

I can hardly work!!  Isn’t she too cute!  I think she wants me to stop and pet her 🙂

Case the Designer (GDP060)

GDP Star

Today I’m playing along with the Global Design Project challenge and we are casing the designer.  The designer this week happens to be my friend, Brian King!  Here’s his card that we are supposed to case (copy and share everything!):Brians Case card

I knew right away that I wanted to enter this contest because PINK is my favorite color!!  And, Brian’s card is so cute, who can resist trying to copy it?

GDP Star flat L

Blushing Bride is a nice pink, and it has some coordinating glimmer paper that looks so great with it. That’s one thing about Stampin’ Up! — all of the papers and inks and ribbons and dsp’s coordinate color-wise, so you are assured of a beautiful project!

GDP Star cu R

The glimmer paper is cut with one of the dies from the coordinating Starlight Thinlit Dies.  They are so beautiful and intricate.  I think they are one of the prettiest die sets ever!

GDP Star standing

Brian’s signature style is layered panels, so I made sure to add some Silver Foil behind the Whisper White and Blushing Bride panels 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please pop on over to Global Design Project and see how other stampers have cased Brian’s card!
