Card of Comfort

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Color Me Happy - Peggy Noe - stampinupSo many times we need a comforting card to send to a friend. I needed a card like that recently. I love the Rose Wonder stamp set because it has some wonderful sentiments, and this verse is one of my favorites in the set 🙂

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Blends - Peggy Noe - stampinup

It’s a nice, comforting verse and I think it will encourage my friend. I stamped it in Black Memento Ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock. Then I used a flower from a new stamp set called Color Me Happy, and I stamped three flowers around the sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Color Me Happy Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

I want you to see a close up of the flowers because I was able to use the new Stampin’ Up! alcohol markers called Stampin’ Blends. They won’t be available to customers for a while, but as a demonstrator I was able to get them early and play with them. I love the way they blend and move on the paper! Didn’t they turn out nice?

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Isaiah 4110 - Peggy Noe - stampinupAs soon as the Stampin’ Blends are available to customers, I’ll let you know RIGHT AWAY!! I can’t wait for you to try these fabulous markers!

In the meantime, I recommend the beautiful Rose Wonder stamp set. It’s one of my favorites! It has some great sentiments and a beautiful rose ~ how can you lose??  🙂

Fun Friend Card for Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup Tic Tac Toe ChallengeI love the Tic Tac Toe Challenges…they are so much fun! My card for this week’s challenge is a green, fall, friendship card (first column on the left)! Here is the board:For the “fall” element of the card I did a watercolor wash on Shimmery White paper using Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Berry Burst inks. After the color wash dried, I splattered some Berry Burst ink over the paper in little dots.

Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe Friend Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup Tic Tac Toe Challenge

For the green element I punched leaves using my favorite new Leaf Punch! I use this punch constantly ~ these leaves are so cute and you can just slip them in on any card 🙂 Here I added a few Gold Foil leaves for bling (!) and a few strands of Jute Twine.

Stampin' Up! Fall Coffee Card - Peggy Noe - Coffee Cafe stampinup

And, what is friendship but having coffee with a friend? I love this sentiment from the Coffee Cafe stamp set, and I added a sweet little coffee cup cut from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Up! Tic Tac Toe Challenge Coffee Card - Peggy Noe - Coffee CafeSo tell me, what card would you make for this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge? I’d love to see your card over in the gallery! CLICK HERE to see what the other designers have done, and enter your creation!

Make a Pumpkin!

Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree Pumpkin Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupIt’s October and time for pumpkins! I love October, and Fall! Today I want to show you a simple way to make a pumpkin of any size.

Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree Thankful Card - Peggy Noe - Pumpkin Card

All you need to make a pretty pumpkin is three ovals. You can die cut the ovals or punch the ovals with any size oval punch. Place two of the ovals to the back and one in the center on top, as shown above. I like to pull the tops together a little tighter than the bottom. For this pumpkin, I cut the ovals with the Stitched Shape Framelits.

This is a quick and easy way to make a pumpkin. Want a large pumpkin? Use large ovals. Small pumpkin? Use small ovals. It’s up to you!

Embossing Paste Leaves!

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupI absolutely love the new leaf punch! There is so much you can do with it! For today’s project, I used it as a mask for embossing paste!Stampin' Up! Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Today’s cards are the ones we made at our one-day retreat, Create the Day Away, and I couldn’t wait for you to see them! One of our demonstrations was on using embossing paste in different ways.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

For this card we created a “mask” by punching a piece of Heavyweight Card Stock with the Leaf Punch. We laid the punched piece of card stock on top of the thin card stock panel and covered it with Embossing Paste. Lift up the mask and you are left with the embossing paste leaves!

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous It's Your Day Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

We made both of these cards so that we could use a different arrangement of the card elements and a different sentiment on each card.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous Birthday Cards - Peggy Noe - stampinup

What do you think? Do you have any preference? Different options, different stamps, different combination of colors…and all quick and easy!

Give it a try! Punch your own leaves and use the punched piece as a mask for embossing paste. Send me a picture of your project ~ I’d LOVE to see it!

Happiest of Birthdays!

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Happy Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupOk, so this cake is too cute! I just have to use it! It’s from the Happiest of Days stamp set, my new favorite birthday set.

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Happy Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampin up

The elements of today’s card all sit on a panel of Flirty Flamingo card stock embossed with the Garden Trellis embossing folder. This is one of the sweetest embossing folders ~ everything looks so good with it!

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Birthday Wishes Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupTo add a bit more to this card, I’ve colored in a few places with ink pads and a blender pen.  This gives it a little personality 🙂

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Days Birthday Card - Peggy Noe - stampin up

Pretty Pointer:  A good way to add interest to your card is to highlight a stamped element. One way to do that is to fussy cut the stamped image, like I’ve done here with the birthday cake.

My September Host Code Gift! Spend $75 or more with me using this month’s host code above and earn the NEW Champagne Foil Paper FREE.  Orders of $150 or more should not use the host code and automatically qualify for the Champagne Foil.  Qualifying totals exclude shipping and tax. Autumn Mini Pizza Box ~ Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

Stampin' Up! Painted Autumn Pizza Box - Peggy Noe - stampinup stampin upHave you ever seen mini pizza boxes? I hadn’t…until Stampin’ Up! came out with them! 🙂 This decorated mini pizza box is my interpretation of this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge. Here’s the Tic Tac Toe Board we are working with:

For my project I used the first column down on the left (ribbon, floral, patterned paper) and the middle row across (floral, yellow, die-cut/punch). I started out working with the items in the first column down, but after I finished my pizza box I realized that the middle row across also applied!

Stampin' Up! Mini Pizza Box - Peggy Noe - stampin upThis project has no stamping, did you notice? It’s true! The top of the pizza box is covered with the beautiful Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. And the pretty sunflower is simply cut out of the same paper! Easy, right?

Stampin' Up! Mini Pizza Box - Peggy Noe - stampinupSo what do you put in these little cuties? Several Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares would fit, or a few tea bags in their foil packages. But my favorite thing to put in these boxes is a set of little 3 x 3 handmade cards with envelopes. It makes a lovely gift!

Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to pop over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge website HERE to see what the other designers have come up with!

My Favorite Holiday ~ Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals September 2017 Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month our theme is “My Favorite Holiday”.  Sit back and enjoy the view while the Pals treat you with projects for the upcoming Autumn and Winter holidays.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Stampin' Up! Seasonal Layers Thinlits Hello Fall Card - Peggy Noe - stampin up

My favorite holiday is … Fall. I know, it’s not “really” a holiday, but for me it is! I LOVE Fall. Here in San Diego County only a native can find Fall. We have quite a long late summer, most of our Fall days are really late summer days. It can be 80 or 90 degrees all the way through October. So when we do have a true Fall day here (coolish weather with a few leaves floating around), it’s a really big deal! It can be 69 degrees and we will all start up our fireplaces!!! It’s a holiday!

So today I made for you a true Fall card! I used a fun technique with Embossing Paste and have a little photo tutorial for you. The purple leaves on this card were made with Embossing Paste and then watercolored lightly with Fresh Fig ink using an Aqua Painter. Here’s how it’s done:

Stampin' Up! Embossing Paste Tutorial - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The stencil for the paste was created using a leaf die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, but you can use any die or punch to create a stencil! It’s a fun technique!

Stampin' Up! Embossing Paste Fall Card - Peggy Noe - stampin up

Here’s a close up of a finished leaf. It almost looks sparkly or sugary, doesn’t it? After I made the leaves on the card, I splattered the card with the same Fresh Fig ink and Aqua Painter (tap against a bone folder). The sunflowers were fussy cut from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. This paper is so beautiful, seriously. It’s one of my all-time favorites 🙂

Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest Hello Fall - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The sentiment used is from the Merry Cafe stamp set, and it expresses just how I feel! I also added a bit of Metallic Thread for bling! We have to have bling, right???

Stampin' Up! Seasonal Layers Fall Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on October 11, 2017, for “Wicked Folds”. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. The next stop is my friend Su Mohr at Aromas and Art. Don’t forget to leave me a comment. I’d love to hear what you have to say about my Favorite Holiday.  Bye the way, what’s your favorite holiday?

Weather Together for a Bridal Shower!

Stampin' Up! Weather Together Bridal Shower - Peggy Noe - stampinupBridal shower cards are so much fun to make! Especially when you can use an adorable umbrella from the Weather Together stamp set and coordinating dies!

Stampin' Up! Weather Together Bridal Shower Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupI made this card for the daughter of a friend of mine. My friend made the bridal shower invitations using the Weather Together set. I wanted my card to coordinate with everything so I gently pulled the sweet little umbrella off of the invitation and used it for my card!! (I’ve done this before and it’s a great way to carry out the theme of the event!)

Stampin' Up! Weather Together Shower Card - Peggy Noe - stampinupThis card was really easy to make once I had the umbrella! 🙂  I cut a piece of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, tied a pretty bow around it with the Night of Navy 1/2″ Gingham Ribbon, attached the umbrella, and there you go! Easy ~ and pretty.
