New: Eastern Palace Suite! (GDP082)

Just have to show you these beautiful new colors and an EARLY RELEASE bundle:  the Eastern Palace Suite! You can get your hands on this fabulous bundle on May 1st and you are going to love it!

The design of today’s card is from this week’s Global Design Challenge.  It’s such a nice sketch!

Let me describe all the new fun items on this card!

First:  You are looking at two NEW fabulous 2017-2019 In Colors:  Powder Pink and Berry Burst!  And don’t think this Powder Pink is any old pink ~ it’s really a neutral! It’s very light and soft. You can see in the photo below that it’s even lighter than my nail polish 🙂

Second: These new Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies are AH-MA-ZING!!  Do you see the Powder Pink piece in the center?  It’s so neat with the little “petals” coming out from around the circle! And there are even more intricate dies in this set.

Third: The sentiments in the Eastern Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set are great. Some of them are shaped in a semi-circle so they can go on the inside of this circle.

Fourth:  Gold Vinyl Stickers!!  Yes, stickers! Do you love this large sticker on today’s card?  All I can say is WOW!  I have plans for these stickers…on my planner, notebook, ….  🙂

So, are you excited?  I am!  I have just barely touched all the possibilities of this bundle.  Well I’m really excited for YOU to be able to order this on May 1st!  It’s a pretty big deal that Stampin’ Up! is releasing this set early, one month before the new annual catalog comes out!

Sneak Peek for Easter!

Oh boy!  Over the past weekend I was able to get the new 2017-18 Annual Catalog early AND order some items!!  Well, I got a big box from the UPS man today and whee–fun stuff was inside!  I want to show you a few sneak peeks from my box 🙂  I’ve mixed a bit of the new with a bit of the retiring items!

So, what’s new?  Can you spot the items?  First, the sentiment is punched out with a brand new punch called the Pretty Label Punch (it really is pretty!).  Do you see the Gold Faceted Gems?  Big and bold and bling – love them!!  And then finally, there’s a brand new In Color cardstock called Powder Pink.  It’s a gorgeous color and seems to be almost a neutral…it blends with anything. Here on my card it forms the panel behind the dsp and the punched label.

Now for the retiring items. 🙂  The sentiment is from the Suite Sentiments set.  It’s a lovely sentiment and all of the stamps in the set are great.  And the fonts are really nice!  If you need a good sentiment set, this is one worth getting.

The paper has been one of my favorites from the Occasions Catalog, it’s the Cupcakes & Carousels dsp (right now 40% OFF!), and the bigger label with gold is from the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishments Kit (right now 30% OFF!).

Peekaboo Peach Thanks!

Recently we’ve been talking about the retiring In Colors (2015-2017), but the continuing 2016-2018 In Colors will still be with us for another year.  And I’m so happy ~ they are beautiful colors!  The color featured on today’s card is Peekaboo Peach!

The “peach” tree is stamped with the Sheltering Tree stamps.  The green part of the tree was stamped with Pear Pizzaz ink.  I think it goes so well with Peekaboo Peach!  These two colors make a beautiful peach tree!

The Peekaboo Peach flowers and vines are are on one of the sheets of the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper.  I have to say that has been my favorite DSP of the annual catalog.  I think I’ve gone through four or five packages!

I needed over 20 spring thank you notes, so after I made them all I took a photo of them lined up on my table!  Fun!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Gift from the Garden!

This past weekend I was a part of a women’s retreat in the mountains.  It was wonderful!  And when I came home I had a few thank you notes to write!  No problem, that’s what I do 🙂

The theme of our retreat was about growing the roots of our lives in good soil.  The Gifts from the Garden stamp set was perfect!  The heart flower in the pot is all one stamp. In order to get the different colors on one stamp, I used our Stampin’ Write Markers and colored the portions of the stamp in the colors I wanted.

Do you see the cute little “burst” on the waterpot?  I found a darling little stamp in the Jar of Love stamp set and when I stamped it there I just loved it!!  The sentiment is also from the Jar of Love set.

Well, I have to tell you I’m getting really excited about this weekend!  There’s a regional Stampin’ Up! conference here in San Diego!  Yippee!

Follow me on Instagram @prettypapercards to see lots of fun photos of the weekend!

You Make Me Smile!

First of all, I have to tell you that I didn’t make this gorgeous card!!!  It was a gift to me from my friend, Beeba Kapoor, and I just had to show it to you!  She made the sweet flowers from crepe paper…I’ve got to have her teach me how to make them!

To create the circles on this card she used the Layering Circles Framelits, and the sentiment is fro the Timeless Love stamp set.  Don’t you love it??

Hello Vertical Garden! (GDP 080)

Today’s card is a fun color combination using Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, and my favorite Mint Macaron 🙂  The design is from this week’s challenge over at Global Design Project.

I’m still using lots of Mint Macaron…you know, before it’s gone 🙁

The sample card had a tag and a banner across the lower portion of the card.  For my card I used the gold Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate as the tag.  I love the way it looks, so sparkly!!

The “hello” banner is embossed in white on the Mint Macaron panel.  It’s large and bold!

Ooh My ~ Mint Macaron!

You’re probably going to see me using a lot of Mint Macaron over the next few months.  It’s been one of my favorite colors for two years, and it will be discontinued at the end of May.  🙁

I’ve been trying different watercolor techniques lately.  That’s a fancy way of saying I’ve been playing around with watercolors!  Ha!  I love watercolors but I’m too impatient to wait for them to dry!!  I used my heat gun, but I think my paper still wasn’t dry when I took this photo.

The only colors on this card are Mint Macaron, Whisper White and off white.  When you make a monochromatic card, it’s best to use lots of texture.  Here I’ve added ribbon, baker’s twine, a doily, and some designer acetate, along with a pretty piece of Whisper White card stock die cut with the So Detailed Thinlits.
