Quick and Easy Halloween Treats!

Stampin' Up! Painted Autumn Treat Bags - Peggy Noe - Painted Autumn

Are you looking for a way to make some quick and easy Halloween treat bags? It’s a snap with just a few supplies.

Stampin' Up! Painted Autumn Halloween Treats - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Use any treats you like. I love to use candy corn because it’s so colorful. I put the treats in cellophane bags, folded the tops of the bags and stapled them shut. Then I folded one Delicate White Doily on top of each bag and secured it with a decorated clothes pin.

Stampin' Up! Painted Autumn Fall Treats - Peggy Noe - Painted Autumn

The cute little pumpkin that is on the doily was fussy cut from a sheet of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper and adhered with some Fast Fuse Adhesive. The same paper was also used to decorate the clothes pin, and a bow of Linen Thread was double tied on the pin. Easy, right? See all the products I used in the list at the end.

Favorites for the Blog Hop!

Blog Hop BadgeWelcome to the May Pals Blog Hop. This is the first hop on our new day – the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Before we celebrate the release of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog next month, we want to take time to say goodbye to our favorite retiring products. This month we are showcasing projects that feature stamps or accessories that are retiring along with the 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog on June 4th.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Angie Blake at Angie’s Musings, stop number 33 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog.

May Hop Best

Some of my REALLY favorite things are retiring, and I’m so happy to be able to use them one last time.  The En Francais background stamp has been a favorite for quite a while.  It’s so pretty behind flowers, and I just love flowers!!  Speaking of flowers, the ones on this card are from a gorgeous set called Fabulous Florets which is also retiring.  The leaves come in the same set.  I’ve fussy cut them for this card to make them really stand out.

May Hop cu

The sentiment is from the Sweet Essentials set which I’ve used so many times.  I love the font 🙂  Now, one of my REAL favorites has been the Victoria Lace Trim.  That’s what I’ve used here along with the Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon.  Both of these are retiring and I just saw that the Victoria Lace Trim is already sold out!!!  But, there is good news.  There is a beautiful NEW Venetian Crochet Trim in the new catalog and it will be available June 2nd!!  You know that’s first on my list (hee)!

May Hop 2

And of course what would a retired favorites card be without some of our beautiful retiring 2012-2014 In Colors?  My favorites have been Primrose Petals and Gumball Green.  I’m really a pink girl at heart, so I’ve loved Primrose Petals since it first came out.  And Gumball Green is such an elegant green…

So, those are some of my retiring favorites!  But we have amazing new products to play with beginning June 2nd, and I’ve been showing sneak peeks of some of those fun items, so definitely come back for more!

Thank you for coming along on the blog hop!  The next stop is my friend Patti MacLeith at Papercrafts by Patti, stop number 2 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and  I hope to see you next month.

Rustic Christmas

Country Christmas with candle

Christmas is almost here.  I’m just about ready.  All the presents have been purchased, “most” of my cards mailed, and I’m beginning to relax and enjoy the season.  I’ve been reading some Christmas stories, and thinking about Christmas in the woods, in the snow, in the night.  (Mind you, I live in the San Diego suburbs, in a housing development, where the high today was about 80 degrees…)  So I created a card that reminded me of the scene I have in my mind!

Country ChristmasThis card is abstract which is very different for me.  The background is Birch Paper Ribbon from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit.  I stamped directly on it with the reed-looking stamp from the Love and Sympathy set.  That created the woodsy, snowy look I wanted.

Country Christmas cu star

The silver glimmer star is perfect for the picture I have in my mind 🙂  I added some rays from the star using the Metallic Silver Glimmer Marker to complete my rustic Christmas scene.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Slow down and enjoy your week — if you can!

Pretty Card For a Friend

Trust1Today’s card was made for a friend who is going through a hard time.  I wanted to make her a pretty card with encouraging words.  This stamp is one of my favorite Scriptures, and appropriate for difficult situations.  The stamp set is called Trust God and has 7 great stamps!

TrustenviefrontI wanted to use lots of pretty things for this card, so I started with the gorgeous En Francais stamp as a background.  Squares Collection Framelits were used to create the polaroid-look frame and the Apothecary Accents Framelits were used for the shapes inside the frame.

The Primrose Petals and Blushing Bride card stock add a feminine touch to this card.  The Subtles Candy Dots fill that space at the bottom of the frame and add a little bit of interest!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Sweet Pumpkin!

Tful Pumpkin envie

Is this a sweet pumpkin or what?  I think it almost looks like a quilt, don’t you?  I cased this card from Dawn McVey.  I saw her card and fell in love 🙂

Tful Pumpkin.2You will be surprised at how easy this card is to make!  All it takes is some coordinating Designer Series Paper (or any beautiful combination you can think of!) and some oval punches or, as I used, the Ovals Collection Framelits.  Punch or cut out your ovals, overlap them, and there you have your pumpkin!  Put a little stem on, some leaves, and you’re all set.  I added a Tea Lace Doily and some Linen Thread.

Pretty Vintage Card!

I’m really in a vintage mood.  And the Very Vintage Wheel is just the right thing for this kind of mood!  I’m crazy about this wheel.  For today’s card, I used Baked Brown Sugar ink on Very Vanilla card stock ~just right.

Vintage.cuBurlap, a doily, 5/8″ Victoria Lace Trim and Linen Thread continue the vintage look.  The flower is made from a pretty tissue paper I had, layered, and then punched with the Pansy Punch.  I sprayed the completed flower with Smooch Spritz.  Ooh, it came out just the way I wanted!

A pretty thank you today for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge.  The three colors we are to use are SO gorgeous together!  Actually these three colors are ones that I use together frequently.  Here they are:

For my card today, I used one of the stamps from Gorgeous Grunge and then ran the sheet through the Big Shot using the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

PPA171.PeggyNThe ribbon running across the center of the card is Calypso Coral 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon, cut in half lengthwise down the center.

Nautical Theme for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge!

Today’s card is  a very special card!  It’s my first card as a Pals Paper Arts Designer!!  Have you been over to the Pals Paper Arts blog? We have so much fun over there.  I’ve been entering the challenges for quite a while and am so honored to become one of the designers.  I really encourage you to visit, AND to enter!  I’d sure love to see you there.

This week the challenge is to make a card using the colors above.  These colors are gorgeous together, and very appropriate for July.  The nautical theme is so popular right now, so I thought I would give it a try for my card.

The Midnight Muse 1/2″ strips were glued on the card as a background, and the large Cherry Cobbler flag was embossed with the Pretty Polka Dots embossing folder.  Polka dots and stripes always go together!  The old-fashioned life preserver was trimmed with with Linen Thread to give a realistic look.

PPA.163.cuThe life preserver is cut from the new Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper.  Did you know that there’s a SALE right now on Designer Series Paper?  It’s true, buy three Designer Series Papers, and you get one FOR FREE!! Yippe!

Sweet Venetian Romance

Today’s card is inspired by the Stampin’ Pretty Pals, my great group of stampers who mean so much to me.  This weekend we were challenged to make a thank you card to our fellow Pals, and this is the card I made.

Have to say I’m just crazy about our beautiful colors Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe and the new Designer Series Papers used on this card combine the two colors in spectacular ways.  I’ve used three new designer papers on this card!  I just started combining the patterns that used my colors.  They are Venetian Romance, I Am Me, and Birthday Basics.

The colors go perfectly with Baked Brown Sugar so I used it as the ink for the sentiments on this card.  Here’s the close up:

Who are you thankful for today?  I encourage you to make a card for someone YOU are thankful for!

Have a great weekend!

Love Those Layers! (PPA161)

Striped.HB.2Layers, layers, layers!!  Layers bring your card to life, the sentiment pops right off the card and speaks to you, don’t you think?

It’s not hard to create layers like these–just lift each piece above the other with our super Stampin’ Dimensionals, one of the very best things Stampin’ Up! makes!!

Today’s card is inspired by the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge this week.  I love doing the challenges, they cause me to create cards that are outside of my comfort zone.

I used the Honeycomb Embossing Folder to add texture to the layers, and the linen thread bow adds more texture.  You can’t really see it in the photos, but the bow is pinned on with one of the new Hardware Clips Essentials.

Stamps: Label Love and Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar
Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla card stock, and Etcetera Designer Series Paper
Other Goodies:  Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Linen Thread, Hardware Clips Essentials, Stampin’ Dimesionals
