Welcome to the Pals October 2017 Blog Hop featuring some very “Wicked Folds”. Thank you so much for joining us today. Sit back and enjoy the view while the Stampin’ Pretty Pals treat you with their wickedly folded projects. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
My card today is a fun tri-fold card disguised as a regular card!
Who would know that this card unfolds with two more layers?
The card opens to reveal an inside full of pretty pumpkins from the beautiful Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.
This pumpkin panel lifts up to reveal the third section of the card.
For the inside, I used the die-cut circle from the front of the card and affixed a banner with a nice sentiment from the Basket of Wishes stamp set. This is a fun fold and it’s a little surprise for the one who opens it!
I have a template for you so that you can make this same card. It’s super easy! Start with an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock. The “X” below shows you the section you cut out. The dotted lines represent the places you will fold. Each section is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2.” Easy, right?

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on November 8, 2017. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment.
Who doesn’t like hugs? I love hugs, especially from my husband 🙂 And others like hugs too, particularly people who are feeling down or going through hard things. That’s why I like this sentiment, because it conveys so much that other words really can’t.
The Lovely Words Thinlits Dies have three great words that can be used in different ways. You can see what the dies look like below. They are backwards in this photo 🙂 For today’s card I snipped the word “hugs” out of the circle after the die was cut.
But you don’t have to snip the words out. Look at the other ways you can use the dies below. Aren’t they fun?
To add interest to today’s card I used some Embossing Paste. I’m just loving this stuff. I want to use it on every card! Ha!
Don’t forget about July Bonus Days! For every $50 order, you receive a coupon for $5 off your purchase in August! This is one of the ways during the year to save on Stampin’ Up!’s fabulous products. Take advantage of this while you can!

This is a very exciting week~ the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog goes live this Thursday, June 1st! So many exciting pretty new things ~ wow!
Today I want to show you the new Lovely Words Thinlits Dies that will be available to you on June 1st. I love word dies, and I really like these because they not only have words, but each word is set in a shape! You can use them as is or cut the word out of its shape, as I did for my card above.
You can see in the picture above the three words and two of them are shown in their shapes. “Lovely” is set in a heart, “friend” is set in an oval, and (not shown) “hugs” is set in a circle. Basically you have two options for each die!
Actually, this card is made entirely of dies! The flowers and leaves are from the May Flowers Framelits. These are carrying over from last year and I’m glad because they are so nice.
Pretty Pointer: White on white is very powerful. You don’t see it often, so when you do it really makes a statement. Here the flowers are lifted off the page with Stampin’ Dimensionals, which even adds more to the card and gives it some depth.
The flower centers are the new Glitter Enamel Dots. These have been so popular just with the demonstrators (we can order some catalog items early), that they are all gone! But, we’e got you covered! Tons of them are expected in the second week of June, so keep them on your list ~ you’re gong to love them!
Come back tomorrow! Each day this week I’m going to be previewing some items from the new catalog! If you haven’t already, get your wish list started!
Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and want you to enjoy our creations!
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all the projects.
My card today focuses on both texture and technique, and it uses some continuing products and some new products! Let’s talk about texture. A card can be fun and interesting because of the texture on the card.
To add texture to my card I used the Petal Burst Embossing Folder on a panel of Shimmery White card stock. Then I watercolored the panel with Sweet Sugarplum ink. You can see how the ink filled in the white space between the petals in some places and not in other places ~ this also adds texture!
Pretty Pointer: Shimmery White card stock is perfect for times when you want to both watercolor and use an embossing folder. It is a paper that is recommended for watercoloring and is also thin enough to go through an embossing folder.
For more texture, I added some of the brand new 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in the new In Color, Berry Burst (loving this ribbon!). I topped that with some Very Vanilla 1/2′ Lace Trim and finished it all off with an open lacy-looking flower. The “lovely” die cut sentiment is from the brand new Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.
All the details of the items I used are at the bottom of this post. Hope this gives you some ideas for adding texture to your own projects!
