Hello Vertical Garden! (GDP 080)

Today’s card is a fun color combination using Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, and my favorite Mint Macaron 🙂  The design is from this week’s challenge over at Global Design Project.

I’m still using lots of Mint Macaron…you know, before it’s gone 🙁

The sample card had a tag and a banner across the lower portion of the card.  For my card I used the gold Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate as the tag.  I love the way it looks, so sparkly!!

The “hello” banner is embossed in white on the Mint Macaron panel.  It’s large and bold!

Ooh My ~ Mint Macaron!

You’re probably going to see me using a lot of Mint Macaron over the next few months.  It’s been one of my favorite colors for two years, and it will be discontinued at the end of May.  🙁

I’ve been trying different watercolor techniques lately.  That’s a fancy way of saying I’ve been playing around with watercolors!  Ha!  I love watercolors but I’m too impatient to wait for them to dry!!  I used my heat gun, but I think my paper still wasn’t dry when I took this photo.

The only colors on this card are Mint Macaron, Whisper White and off white.  When you make a monochromatic card, it’s best to use lots of texture.  Here I’ve added ribbon, baker’s twine, a doily, and some designer acetate, along with a pretty piece of Whisper White card stock die cut with the So Detailed Thinlits.

Blackberry Bliss Blossoms!

BB loved 2

This is one of my favorite color combinations…Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron, I love it!!  Remember, the current 2014-2016 In Colors are only available until May 31, 2016.  After that they are discontinued, and that includes Blackberry Bliss!  If you like, or maybe LOVE this color, be sure to stock up now.

And, I admit it, I’m still playing with the Grateful Bunch stamp set and coordinating punch.  I just can’t put them down 🙂  We made this card at my stamp classes over the weekend.  I’ve used almost every stamp in the set on this card.  Each one is so pretty!  Ok, I love the lace border stamp (love).  And the butterfly stamp, I think it’s the most realistic and detailed butterfly stamp I’ve seen.

I used this sentiment because it’s sweet and would be a good sentiment for a Mother’s Day card, or any card for that matter.  The font is so cute and fresh 🙂

July Blooms!

Bloom angled

Hi Stampers!  Happy July!  Once the 4th is over, I guess I really feel that we are in July!!  Today I have a new stamp set to show you, it’s called Garden in Bloom.  It was just released with our new annual catalog and this is the first time I’ve used it and….I LOVE IT!!

Bloom 1This is just one of the 20 (did you hear that?  20 stamps in the set!  Wow!) stamps in this new set.  For this card I used a monochromatic color scheme:  Mint Macaron (my current FAVE COLOR!) and Whisper White.

Bloom 3

You’ll be seeing lots more of this pretty stamp set in the upcoming days.  What do you think about it?  Do you have it, and if so do you love it?  Do you want to get it? I love to hear your comments!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week, and make some cards!

Sneak Peek ~ Beautiful Mint Swallow!

Mint Swallow 1

Oh boy ~ new products ~ yippee!  Look at this gorgeous new color called Mint Macaron!!  Ooh I LOVE  it!  And, do you see this beautiful coordinating Dotted Lace Trim?!?

Mint Swallow cu

The swallow is fussy cut and placed on a background of Blackberry Bliss.  I’m loving this color combination.  Thinking it would be a very nice color selection for Christmas!  The little “thankful” tag is one of the sentiments from the Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Pretty Pointer:  You can add sentiments from other stamp sets, mix it up, when you make your cards.  This particular “thankful” is just a partial sentiment.  The full stamp says “thankful for you” but I cut off the last part and just used “thankful.”  Experiment, make your stamps work for you! 🙂

Mint Swallow Bench

On another subject, my little Elie turned 2 yesterday!  I can’t believe she’s already a teenager (2 x 7 = 14 in dog years)!!  Here’s a picture of my sweet little girl:
