Ruffled Ribbon Birthday!

Today’s card is such a fun birthday card! Sometimes I like to make different birthday cards, out of the ordinary, something unexpected.

My unexpected element today is a bold Berry Burst ruffled ribbon. I’ve mentioned how I love the crinkled seam binding and I like to ruffle it loosely on a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Underneath the ribbon I’ve tucked a strip of Lemon Lime Twist card stock punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. These two colors look SO good together!

Actually, my husband helped me design this card! He’s very artistic and many times he advises me when I’m unsure of a layout. I really like the way he arranged the daisies, I would never even think of adding them! Pretty neat to have a designing husband 🙂

Only a few more days left for my June Special …

Coffee With a Friend!

Spending time at a little coffee shop with a good friend is one of my favorite things to do. It’s nice to go to an out-of-the-way place, the kind without big crowds, where you can chat and relax for a bit.

Yesterday I was able to do that with a dear friend and I made her this special card to let her know how much I enjoyed our time together 🙂 I have to say I love this Coffee Cafe stamp set and framelits! I had so much fun making this card with the cute little heart paper and the coffee bean leaves!

And what do you think about that cardboard-looking sleeve for the coffee cup? The framelits make that! I used Crumb Cake card stock ~ didn’t it come out so realistic?

Embossed Summer Daisies! (tttc003)

Today is Tic Tac Toe Challenge Day and we’ve got a great challenge board for you! This time I chose the first row across (at the top) but I added in a few other items from the board just for fun 🙂

For this card I tried something different with the embossing paste. We have the Decorative Masks to use with the paste, but I wanted some other patterns. I decided to use a punched piece of card stock, one that had a daisy punched out of it. And, it worked!

First I lightly watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with an Aqua Painter and some Daffodil Delight ink to give a little background color. When that was dry, I laid the punched card stock square over the watercolored piece and pressed some of the Embossing Paste into the punched area with the palette knife. I did that a few more times. Then I went back with the Aqua Painter and, without adding any water, just added a bit more ink and lightly painted the daisies. The paste dries a little rough, but that’s what it’s meant to do…add texture 🙂

These are my favorite summer colors: Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy. They just look so fresh! And this Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon is one of my new favorites – I was so happy to be able to use it on this card. This ribbon is super-easy to work with and ties great bows! A little vellum butterfly just adds to the summer theme.

So is your mind whirling about what shapes you could use with the embossing powder? Leave me a comment and let me know your ideas, I’d love to hear! And if you haven’t tried it, you absolutely must! It’s easier than you would think!

Oh My Goodness, Graceful Garden!

It’s true, oh my goodness I love this stamp set! I love roses and this is a set of beautiful roses and leaves. Every day as I sit in my craft room I look out a window to my rose garden (I know, it sounds like an old song!). We didn’t even plant it, it was here when we bought the house, and it is such a pleasure to look out at the roses every day!

The background for today’s card was fun and easy to do. Actually I used our Pattern Party Decorative Masks and sponged Flirty Flamingo ink over the mask with a Thumb Dauber. I used a fun Host Stamp Set called Background Bits to add some more interest. It has a stamp with faint handwriting on it. Then I splattered the whole background with some Soft Suede ink. This is how you make your own designer series paper!

Ok, I just have to stop and show you my little stamping partner. Elie sleeps on her pink leopard blanket while I stamp. I called her name to get her to look up for this photo. I think she’s upset that I woke her up 🙂 Ok, back to my card…

Pretty Pointer: To add depth to a stamped image, use a Blender Pen to add more color. On this rose, I stamped it first in Flirty Flamingo and then went back in with some Powder Pink ink and my blender pen to give more substance to the flower.

Graceful Garden Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Item No. 143849  $19.00

To add even more interest I shredded some of the Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon and laid it across the card below a strip of the same ribbon. It acts like a surprise ~ when you see it, you think ooh, look at that fun stuff 🙂

Crafting Forever!

Have you done something creative today? This card is to remind you to take a minute, or a few minutes, and relax, create something!

Over the weekend I had fun making a bunch of these cards ~ and I loved it! I sat and colored the handles of these scissors with my Lemon Lime Twist Marker and totally relaxed! The card is simple, just a 2″ x 4″ panel stamped with scissors, a doubled up Lemon Lime Twist ribbon, and a stamped, punched circle!

Crafting Forever Clear Stamp Set
Item No. 143958 $20.00

This is such a fun stamp set for a crafter! I’ve already used it quite a bit. It’s one I’m going to keep in my permanent collection 🙂 To find out more, just click on the photo of the stamp set above.

Here’s how the cards looked all lined up! I sent these out with my ribbon shares. Did you take advantage of my ribbon shares? Quite a few people did. If you didn’t catch it this time, I’ll be doing it again when the Holiday Catalog comes out in a few months, so be watching!

A Rustic Hello!

Today’s fun card is for this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge! These challenges are so much fun! There’s a lot of freedom in choosing three elements you want to use from the tic tac toe board. Here is the board for this challenge:

For my card today I chose the far right vertical row: wood, yellow, and embellishment. The wood was easy…the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack is perfect! The sheet I’m using here looks like a piece of wood with white peeling paint, love it!

Ok, so I’m crazy about the Oh So Eclectic Bundle. There are so many possibilities! The leaves here are stamped with a cross-hatch leaf stamp and then die cut with coordinating dies. And I love these flowers! You use two dies to cut the lacy-looking flowers, and then just one of those dies to cut the Whisper White background of the flower.

One thing I really like about using this Wood Textures paper is that it’s a super quick way to make a rustic shabby card (and I really like shabby!).

Would you like to try your hand at this week’s tic tac toe board? We’d sure love to have you! Come on over to tictactoechallenge.com!

Ombre Pink Drink!

Have you seen that Starbucks has a new Ombre Pink Drink? It’s SO pretty!! And knowing that I had the new Coffee Cafe Bundle and I hadn’t used it, I just had to see if I could recreate this drink on paper! 🙂

The cup was stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. I did the same thing with the ice cubes but used Clear Embossing Powder. I think they both look the same, but I like it. Then I used a sponge dauber and sponged Powder Pink ink on the lower section of the cup and Melon Mambo ink on the upper portion of the cup.

Do you see that little corrugated tag? Isn’t it adorable? I’m loving the Corrugated Elements, there are hearts and ovals and tags. Here the tag is tied up with a piece of Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon and Linen Thread. I would like to give you some of the Corrugated Elements FREE…

Pick a “B” Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the June 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month’s theme, Pick a “B,” features projects inspired by Babies, Birthdays and Brides to name few. You may just get a glimpse of new catalog products while you hop with us today.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

The “B” in my card today is BIRTHDAY!! We always need birthday cards, don’t we, so this is a great “B” to choose. This sweet little “happy birthday” sentiment is from one of my new favorite stamp sets called Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I mean, even the name of the stamp set makes you want it, right? 🙂

Today I’m using the Petal Garden Memories & More Card Pack. This pack contains lots of individual cards with designs on the front and the back. This is a 3″ x 4″ card with a wreath on it and a light flower pattern on the edges.

I angled this card on top of a panel of Berry Burst card stock which was embossed with the new – and darling – Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

A few die-cut leaves, a little wooden element, and a pretty ribbon finish off the card. The color theme for my card is from pages 56 and 57 of our annual catalog: Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive. I’m crazy about this combination!

Thanks again for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on July 12th. We’re having a pattern party! Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. See you on July 12th for the next Pals Blog Hop!

Just Breathe!

Don’t you like this sentiment? We all need to stop and take a breath, don’t we? And, really, wouldn’t you like to receive a card with this sentiment? It says that the sender knows that you are going through something or are busy, and they recognize it and care. I love it!

And this card is easy to make! We love quick and easy! The ombre background is a piece of the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack. I think it looks a bit like an ocean or a sky. The daisy is Daffodil Delight card stock punched our twice with the new Daisy Punch. The center of the daisy is a White Perfect Accent.

The sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set was stamped with Dapper Denim ink. This card has bold statement elements but it’s simple. I like it!
