Gold and Sugarplum Thank You!

Sweet Sugarplum is one of my favorite colors!  I love the name AND the color!  For today’s card I’ve paired it with Dapper Denim and gold…oooh!

What is that bit of gold in the lace?  Well, I was playing around and I layered some Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim with tiny pieces of a Delicate White Doily.  I adhered them to the white panel using Fast Fuse and a few dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I allowed the adhesive to come through the open areas of the lace and doily.

Then I poured Gold Glitter over them and pressed the glitter into the lace and doily.  When I brushed off the glitter, it was stuck in the groove and gave it a fabulous sparkle!!

You should give it a try ~ It’s not only fun to play with 🙂 but gives your card a super-neat look!

St. Patrick’s Day Thank You!

Happy St. Patty’s Day!  We are going for the green today with this card and lots of layers do the trick!

The two greens used here are the fabulous Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy ~ wow do they go well together!  Now one thing to know about Mint Macaron…no, actually two things!!  (1) It’s the prettiest mint green you’ve ever seen and, (2) it’s only available through May 31st, or while supplies last!  Really, if you love this color like I do, get your paper and ink now before they are gone!

The background behind the sentiment was created with a sweet little stamp from the Sale-a-Bration set called Make a Medallion.  I stamped it all over the piece of Whisper White using Mint Macaron ink.  I really like the way it turned out 🙂

The sentiment is another Sale-a-Bration set called So Very Much.  It’s a beautiful large font and yet the lines are thin.  It really makes a statement -and a quick card!

Learn HERE how you can get these fun embellishments FREE exclusively from me with a qualifying order in March!

Today for the Global Design Project Challenge we are to copy (case) a card by the fabulous Kylie Bertucci!  Kylie is an amazing artist.  Click on her card below to see what the other designers have done.

Of course I had to use the beautiful Sale-a-Bration Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper!  For the panel I placed a Lace Doily over Whisper White card stock and sponged over it with Sweet Sugarplum ink.  I love how it came out!

The sentiment is from the stamp set called All Things Thanks.  It’s been heat embossed in silver on top of the sponged panel.

Make Someone Happy!

I love this sentiment for a thank you card!  I have a friend who gives me just the right gifts.  She seems to know more than anyone how to give me a gift that is thoughtful and special.  Maybe you have someone like that in your life?  Well, this stamp is just what you need!

I made this card today for my friend, to thank her for a sweet gift 🙂  I loaded it with pretty flowers from the Oh So Succulent stamp set.  I used a blender pen to do a bit of shading to bring the flowers to life.

The leaves have been die cut with the Stylish Stems Framelit Dies and tucked in around the flowers.  I also added some tiny bits of a White Lace Doily.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Do you have the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set?  If not, just click on the picture below to go straight to my store!  It’s a gorgeous stamp set, you’ll love it!

Pals Blog Hop: Case the Catty!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are CASE’ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration from which to choose. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the lineup on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop 3 best

What does “CASE the catty” mean anyway?  It means to make any project shown in any of the current Stampin’ Up! catalogs. I chose to used the Any Occasion stamp set and make a few of the cards shown in the Sale-a-Bration Catalog!  This darling stamp set is on pages 14 and 15 of the Sale-a-Bration Catalog (see the catalog at the end of this post!).  I cased (copied) one of the cards and then created a few cards which are similar to the ones shown in the photo.

Now, there are several fabulous things about this stamp set.  The first fabulous thing is that it’s F-R-E-E!! Yes, FREE with a $50 purchase!  Who can beat that?

Hop 3 clothespins

The second fabulous thing about this set is that is SO cute!  Oh my goodness, it’s darling!  The stamps are small and can fit anywhere (and small is cute, right?).  But also, I mean just look at the tiny gift box and bow stamps on the birthday card in the middle above.  And check out the little tassels on the thank you card.  Super cuteness!!

Hop Pink standing

And what do you think of the tiny lace on the baby card above?  It’s actually two stamps, the swoopy line is one stamp and the lace is another stamp!

Hop 3 standing row

And third, this set is crazy versatile!  I’ve counted, and there are at least 7 types of cards that you could make from this one stamp set.  Wow!  20 different stamps come in the set and you just mix and match ~ how great is that?

Hop tu flat

The products used on these cards are listed for you below, along with a link to the Sale-a-Bration Catalog so you can browse!

Color Washed Thank You!

Team Tx

I have so much to be thankful for!  I have some wonderful friends, and I made these cards to send to them for Thanksgiving!

Tx standing

Sweeps of an Aqua Pen with different inks make a nice simple background for a sweet sentiment.  Be sure to use Watercolor Paper!  After the water dried I flicked some specks of Old Olive ink off of the Aqua Pen and onto the watercolored piece.

Pretty Pointer:   To create the specks of ink, tap the Aqua Painter with your bone folder.  You can control the size of the specks by the way you tap.

Tx cu

It’s a bit hard to see in the photos, but the sentiment was embossed with copper embossing powder onto a little strip of Whisper White card stock.  I added a bit of a doily under the strip.

Team Tx large

Here they are!  I love the way they look all lined up!  Can’t wait to put these in the mail!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Grateful Wreath!

Grateful angled R

This is a card we made recently at my card classes and I thought you might like to see it.  I really liked this card because it gets me in the mood for fall and Christmas when I hang wreaths on my front door ! 🙂

Grateful envieThe stampers at the class really liked this card.  To make the wreath, I traced (very lightly in pencil) a circle from one of the Layering Circle Thinlits Dies (you could just use a glass).  Then I stamped around the circled with a little leafy stamp from the Love & Affection stamp set.

Grateful flat

I added a some tiny flowers from various stamp sets, and the sentiment from Endless Thanks.  Pretty easy, right?

Grateful angled L downThanks for stopping by today!  Now go make a wreath card and let me know how it comes out!!  And, if you live in San Diego County and would like to come to one of my classes, please email me!

Lots of Thank You Notes!!

TU 4

Do you ever run out of thank you notes and need to make up a bunch quick?  The other day that situation happened to me!  I quickly made these little cards and thought I’d share them with you!

TU 1 angled down R

Using the Stampin’ Up! Note Cards and matching envelopes saves lots of time.  I pulled those out to start.  Then I cut pieces of watercolor paper to fit as a panel just a bit inside the border of a notecard.

TU 3

Using an Aqua Pen, I brushed a light wash of water and Flirty Flamingo ink over the center of the watercolor paper panel, and let it dry.

TU 1 straight

A little thank you stamp and an enamel heart finish off the panel.  The watercolor panel is then attached to the notecard with dimensionals.

TU 5 in a row

Now I’ve got a set of nice thank you notes ready to send anytime!  Yippee!  Why not make up a few for yourself?

Stamps:  Endless Thanks
Ink:  Flirty Flamingo and Basic Black

Paisleys & Posies!

Bless angled down L

We had a great time at my card classes this past weekend!  This is one of the cards we made.  Personally I’m happy to be getting a head start on my Thanksgiving cards.  I don’t send them so much as I hand them to my friends in the weeks just before Thanksgiving, to let them know that I’m thankful for their friendship 🙂

Bless flat envif

The sentiment from this set is so perfect for people you love and appreciate.  On this card it is heat embossed with white embossing powder on a strip of Cajun Craze cardstock.  I love the way the white really stands out.

Bless angled L

The Crushed Curry layer was stamped in Cajun Craze ink with the largest paisley stamp in the set.  The paisleys look so fun just freely stamped all over!

Bless flat 2

The leaves were cut with the Flourish Thinlits.  I used some Copper Foil which blends beautifully with the other colors on the card.

Do you send Thanksgiving cards?  I’d like to know, and if you do, who do you send or give them to?  Thanks for stopping by today!
