Floral Affection Sympathy

Sympathy angled flat

I never seem to have enough sympathy cards on hand.  I guess I prefer to make happy cards, so I’m always surprised when I need a sympathy card and I don’t have one.  So, I made one in advance this time 🙂

Sympathy angled L cu

For this card I started out with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut to 5-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ and embossed on the lower left with one of the Floral Affection embossing folders.  I angled the paper a bit in the folder to get the flowers where I wanted them.

Sympathy angled R

The embossed areas were then colored with the fat side of a Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write Marker.  I then went back in with the pointed side of the marker to make some areas a little darker.  The Very Vanilla panel was then stamped with various stamps from Timeless Textures and a sentiment from Rose Wonder. Then a 1″ x 5-1/4″ Rich Razzleberry panel was adhered to the Vanilla panel and glued onto the front of a Crumb Cake card base.

Sympathy inside

The inside of the card uses another sentiment from the Rose Wonder set stamped on Very Vanilla and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.  Behind it is a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock punched with the same punch, cut in half and glued to the first piece.

Sympathy envie standing

Thank you for stopping by today!  Happy stamping!!

Stepping Out With Textures ~ Pals May Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2016.  We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the lineup on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Hop 1

Today’s card gives you a preview of some of the new items you will find in the 2016-18 Annual Catalog going live on June 1st!  I’ve used these items and added LOTS of texture!

Hop Best 2

Most of the papers on today’s card are brand new ~ whee!  The base of the card is Whisper White card stock.  Then layered on the white are pieces of the new Dapper Denim card stock, Sweet Sugarplum card stock, and the fabulous new Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper.  All these layers have rough edges.  You can do this easily with your fingernail.  You can even tear the paper a bit for added texture.

Hop2 cu

Do you see the sparkly new designer washi tape?  It’s dotted with … copper!  I love it!  I used it to trim the smaller Sweet Sugarplum layer.   Other texture is added with our fabulous Timeless Textures stamp set and some Crumb Cake ink.

You Make My Heart Smile!

Timeless cu angledIsn’t this a sweet sentiment?  It’s from the stamp set called Timeless Love.  My friend and downline, Beeba Kapoor, created this card today at my card class and I just had to show it to you!

Timeless 2

Beeba is very creative and she has taken a arched flower spray stamp from the set and created a beautiful wreath.  She embossed it with white embossing powder and colored it in with a Blender Pen.  Some pretty flourishes from the Timeless Textures set have been stamped in the corners of the card.

Timeless angled

Please leave a comment here for Beeba, I know she’d love to hear from you!

Here are the Stampin’ Up! items that Beeba used to create her card:

Stamps:  Timeless Love and Timeless Textures
Ink:  Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe Classic Stampin’ Pads and  Versamark Ink

Thankful Journals!

Notebooks bothHave you every made a list of what you are thankful for?  It’s a very good practice.  It helps you to look for the good things and keeps your mind from dwelling on the bad or discouraging things.  Little journals are perfect for recording thanks and moleskin has some very cute (I mean very cute! ) pastel notebooks that are great for this.  But, these darling notebook pastel covers are totally plain ~ just crying out for some decoration 🙂  What can I say?  I had to do it!

Pink 2

One of the journals is a light yellow and goes very well with the Birthday Blooms dsp.  The thanks is from the Greetings Thinlits, and some pretty Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim was attached to the bottom of the white panel.  The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits have a few really cute dies: the little bow at the top left and the strip of hearts.  I love it!

Purple 2

The purple notebook was fun to make.  The thanks was embossed with silver embossing powder and then attached to the card.  There are a few layers here.  The first one is Perfect Plum card stock embossed with the Hearts Embossing Folder.  The top layer is Whisper White card stock stamped with Wisteria Wonder using the Timeless Textures stamp set (love this set.)  The ribbon is Whisper White Seam Binding died with Wisteria Wonder ink.  I just used a sponge dauber with the ink and ran it over the ribbon.  I love the way it came out!

Purple 1

These little journals make nice gifts for friends ~ or for yourself!  I encourage you to write down what you are thankful for.  It’s really helps me.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think!  I love your comments!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Timeless Love!

Wedding 2

It’s beginning ~ the wedding season is upon us!  I usually like to have several wedding cards on hand.  For this card I pulled out the Timeless Love stamp set (for the first time!).  This stamp set has some pretty wedding and anniversary sentiments, and it goes nicely with the …Timeless Textures stamp set!!  Hee!

Wedding 1

The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder on vellum.  The pretty wreath is from the You’re So Lovely Project Kit.  I think that’s been one of my favorite kits this year.

We are nearing the end of a Stampin’ Up! catalog year, and that means that things will be changing!  Some things will go away and some fabulous new things will arrive!  We have until May 31st to order from the current Annual Catalog and the Occasions Catalog.

Sweet & Simple Monday!

Simple 2 2

I’m really having fun with our “Sweet and Simple Mondays.”  These cards are so quick to make it puts a big smile on my face!!  I made these cards in — seriously — 10 minutes!

Simple circle angled

For these cards I used two stamp sets, Timeless Textures and You’re So Lovely.  Timeless Textures is a FABULOUS stamp set, it’s really a classic.  If you don’t have it, I encourage you to get it 🙂

Simple cu

One punch, that’s all it takes.  I used the Decorative Label Punch, but you could use an oval punch, a circle punch, a scallop circle punch, anything!  I used a colored card stock just for a little pizzaz, but you could just as easily use Whisper White.

Simple 3

Two colors of ink.  Simple, right?  And look how pretty these are.  You don’t have to be an artist or have any artistic talent at all.  Stampin’ Up! does it for you with the beautiful inks and papers and stamps.

Simple step up angled

If you’d like to step this up a bit, just add some coordinating card stock behind the white panel.  Here I’ve added Mint Macaron to coordinate with the Mint Macaron ink.

If you’d like to make this card, I have good news for you!  You can get both stamp sets shown here and the two inks used here for a total of $50.50.  What’s so special about $50?  That qualifies you for one FREE Sale-a-Bration item!

PicMonkey Collage

AND, until March 31st, I’m giving a SPECIAL GIFT to each person who orders $50 or more from me using the Host Code below!!  You can choose 1 roll of either Silver or Gold 1/8 Ribbon, and I will send that to you – from me – as my thank you for ordering from me!

March Host Code

Just click the heart above and it will take you to my online store.  Use the Host Code above when you first start your order.  Be sure to leave your contact information so that I can email you.  After you place your order, I will email you asking which color ribbon you would like.  Then I will send it to you as my gift to you!!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Timeless Toile for the Pals!

PPA Peggy

Welcome!  How are you today?  It’s a great day for a color challenge and we have a great one for your!  It’s the Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week and here are the fun colors we have to work with:

I’ve been really enjoying the Timeless Textures stamp set, I can’t stop using it!  For this card I used one stamp that looks like a fluer de lis and stamped it all over 🙂  It kind of gives a toile look, don’t you think?

ppa291 cu

The sentiment here is from the Rose Wonder set.  It’s stamped using the Cucumber Crush ink, and clipped on the ribbon with a — d a r l i n g — little bow paper clip!  Love!

PPA 291 envie

I just have to say that I used so many of my favorite things on this card!  This Pool Party Glitter Ribbon is one of my favorite things ~ it’s full of bling and easy to work with.  For the envelope I stamped more of the fluer de lis stamp on the flap.

PPA 291 R

Thanks for stopping by today!  Pop on over to the Pals Paper Arts blog  and see what the other designers have done.  And, upload your own card!  I’d love to see what you do with these fun colors!

Timeless Textures & You’re So Lovely~Together and Looking Pretty!

Safflower 1

These two stamp sets are real hidden gems in the Occasions Catalog.  Timeless Textures is a combination of texture stamps that add great depth to any project.  For this card the fleur-de-lis stamp is stamped off once before stamping it all over th So Saffron panel.  Beautiful and lacy!

Safflower cu

Here’s a closer look at the activity on the card:  Two strips of card stock, one white and one Smokey Slate, stamped with a dotted stamp from the set and then layered over one another.

The sweet sentiment is one I just love from the You’re So Lovely set!  Wouldn’t you love to get a card that says this??

One thing I like about this card is that it can be used for all sorts of occasions:  birthday, thank you, etc.  If you don’t have these stamp sets, I highly recommend that you order them right away!  They are only available through the end of May and I don’t want you to loose out!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Here is the list of Stampin’ Up! products I used on today’s card:

Stamps:  You’re so Lovely and Timeless Textures
Ink:  Smokey Slate
Paper:  Whisper White, Smokey Slate and So Saffron
Other Goodies:  Tea Lace Doilies Silver Metallic Thread, White Perfect Accents
