Oh my goodness, it’s been SO hot here in Southern California! I needed something to refresh me. What better than a cute citrus birthday card? 🙂
I decided to pull out the Lemon Zest stamp set and coordinating Lemon Builder Punch – they really make a great summer birthday card.
This card is easy because it’s almost all done with punches! I just love punches, they’re quick and it’s so satisfying to pop out a cute little citrus slice!! So all you do here is stamp the citrus slices in a few different colors and punch them out with a 1-3/4″ circle punch.
Then stamp the lemon and leaves and punch them out with the Lemon Builder Punch, and you’re ready to assemble. Quick, right?
To make this card base, start with a piece of Whisper White card stock 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 2-1/8″ and 6-3/8.” Fold and burnish the score lines. The closure of the card is at the front. I used a sheet of the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (Interesting, right? This is one of the black and white sheets in the paper stack!). Cut two pieces to 5-1/4″ x 2″ and adhere one to each front panel. Then arrange the punched citrus slices on the panels, trimming off the edges of some of the pieces and placing them at the sides of the panels. Adhere.
Adhere the leaves to the lemon, then adhere to the left side of the card opening using Stampin’ Dimensionals.. Stamp a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock with the Happy Birthday sentiment, trim the card stock, and adhere the sentiment over the lemon also with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish, apply Wink of Stella to the citrus slices to make them sparkle 🙂
