This past weekend I was able to go to On Stage in Charlotte, North Carolina! Yes, I flew from San Diego to Charlotte to attend a Stampin’ Up! conference AND to get my hands on the brand new 2019-2020 Catalog! I traveled with my friend and stamping buddy, Robin, and we had TOO MUCH FUN! And, I have pictures!

We arrived a few days early to tour around Charlotte. We discovered a darling French bakery called Amelie and ate yummy fresh-baked macarons!

Friday evening I was honored to attend Center Stage dinner. This picture is of our placemat and a little brochure and pen we received. It was so pretty I had to take a picture! The magnolias may give you a clue to a beautiful new suite in the new catalog!

Saturday we attended the conference and oh boy, was it fun! During the day we were able to create “make & takes.” That means fairly easy cards that we made there and brought home. The card below is one of my make & takes that is a part of the upcoming May Paper Pumpkin Kit! This kit was designed by Stampin’ Up!’s founder, Shelli Gardner, and I LOVE IT! I’ll be using this set often, you can be sure!

Another card we created featured the new Free As A Bird stamp set. This is going to be an absolute favorite! Don’t you just love those sweet little birds on the branch? We stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them in with Stampin’ Blends. The stamped panel is layered over a piece of the new Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and oh boy is it so cute!!

Usually when you attend On Stage you take your team. For my team, both Robin and Christine were able to come, isn’t that neat??

We had SO much fun together! We won and were given 3 brand new stamp sets! Everyone who attended received one of the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogs and the minute we got them we ooh’d and aah’d! This is a fabulous catalog with lots of fun and beautiful new stamp sets and papers and ribbons and inks! We were also able to place an order right away for some of the new product! Yippee! These are some of the benefits of being a demonstrator and we love it!

We left early Sunday morning headed to Chicago to change planes and return to San Diego. But do you see in the photo above what happened when we arrived in Chicago? When we first got off the plane it was wet, rainy and cool. But as we had a 2-hour layover and were wandering about — the rain turned to snow!  Well, this little California girl a bit concerned. By the time we were ready to board, our gate had been moved and the gate to board our planes was now different. The rain was still coming down fairly lightly. By the time we arrived at the new gate we found out that our flight attendant crew had been held up on another flight and would not be able to come to our plane for about 1/2 hour. By now the rain had turned to snow. We boarded the plane and it promptly needed to be de-iced. We then had to wait a bit more for our turn to take off, and in the meantime our plane needed to be de-iced again! I felt that we may not get out of the Chicago airport yesterday at all! Well, after the second de-icing we were cleared to go and took off. And we flew out of that airport as fast as we could. It was wonderful to land back in our beautiful San Diego!

Because I was gone over the weekend I couldn’t choose the winner from Friday’s post until today.
