Stampin' Up! Free as a Bird Thanks - prettypapercards - stampinup

Today’s card is a yummy combination of stamp sets and dies that together create a shabby chic garden scene. I love creating shabby cards! My kind of shabby has torn and distressed paper edges, layers, and lace and flowers 🙂

The bird and the flowers on this card are from the Free as a Bird stamp set. The bird was stamped with Crumb Cake ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. The flowers were stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I very lightly watercolored the flowers with watered down Flirty Flamingo ink.

Along with the flowers, some Pear Pizazz leaves are tucked in under the bird. This is all set on a Whisper White doily cut using the Doily Wishes Dies. And behind the doily is a piece of Soft Seafoam card stock stamped in Soft Seafoam ink using a gorgeous Distinktive Stamp from the new Very Versailles stamp set. (I LOVE this stamp set!!) There is also a piece of Vellum behind the stamped piece.

The Whisper White card base is topped with a piece of Blushing Bride card stock and a piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, and both have been set at angles to provide a bit of interest. The papers have been distressed on the edges using my Paper Snips. Just run one of the blades along the sides of the paper until it frays a bit. Actually, the more the better! The sentiment is a stamp from the Very Versailles set that’s been heat embossed in white on a piece of Vellum. The Vellum was then cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
