The True Love Designer Series Paper is beautiful…and it’s retiring! Over the past few days as I’ve been saying that things are retiring, I feel like I want to put a little sad face after every time I say that. It IS sad to see some of these gorgeous items retire 🙁 But, I can say that we are going to LOVE the new items, and that gives us a lot to look forward to!
This beautiful retiring True Love Designer Series Paper used to create today’s card is all black and white with floral and graphic patterns. The flowers on this card were fussy cut out of one of the floral sheets of the paper. They were then colored with Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends and crinkled, by hand, into little balls. The flowers were opened back up, leaving the petals facing upward to make the flowers look “open.”
Behind the flowers are two groupings of leaves cut with the Forever Flourishing Dies. One grouping was cut from Just Jade cardstock, and the other grouping was cut from Shimmery White cardstock that was watercolored with Just Jade ink.
The flowers and leaves are adhered to a piece of Shimmery White cardstock that was lightly watercolored with Just Jade ink. Tucked under the lower left flower is a double bow tied from Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
The sentiment is a stamp from the Free as a Bird stamp set. I like it because it’s small and has a sweet font 🙂 After the card was fully assembled, I splattered Whisper White Craft Ink (from a refill bottle) onto the card using a Water Painter. This is a technique I learned from Debby Hughes at limedoodledesign.com. You need to let it sit to dry for a while, but I love the way it turns out!
Thank you for stopping by today! Happy Stamping!
