What is a gatefold card? A gatefold card is a card with two “doors” on the front, one on the left and one on the right. The doors or “gates” open to reveal the inside of the card. This is a very fun card to make and it’s easy 🙂
The Mint Macaron card base is 11″ x 4-1/4″ and is scored at 2-3/4″ and 8-1/4.” This creates the two “gates.” A piece of Basic White cardstock was cut at 5″ x 4″ and stamped with the large and small cactus flower stamps using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The flowers were then sponged with Mint Macaron and Highland Heather ink, using a sponge dauber. The piece was cut in half and adhered to each “gate” so that they meet at the center.
A 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with a few cactus flowers (like the front of the card) and adhered to the inside of the card.
A piece of Highland Heather cardstock was cut at 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ and topped with a piece of Basic White cardstock cut at 4-1/4″ x 3.” This piece was stamped with the pot. A few cactus flowers and some die-cut Mint Macaron “pearls” were adhered to the pot. The sentiment was stamped on Mint Macaron cardstock and cut with one of the label dies from the coordinating Potted Succulents Die set.
