This is such a fun card! It’s easy to make and has a big wow factor. This card is made using the masking technique, and I’m going to show you how to do it!
The masked background piece is 3-3/4″ x 5″ of Basic White cardstock. I punched a leaf from Pool Party cardstock using the Bough Punch. Then I used the leaf as a mask while blending Tahitian Tide ink over the paper with a Blending Brush. As you do this all over the Basic White piece, you create a beautiful background for any card. You can use any ink color you like and any punched, die cut or fussy cut shape to create a mask just like this!
This card was created using the beautiful colors in this week’s Global Design Project Color Challenge:
Here’s a video tutorial showing you how to create this card:
The Pool Party cardstock leaves that I used to create the mask became so beautiful as I blended the Tahitian Tide ink over them many times. The color became deep and rich, so I had to use them on the card! I stamped the beautiful flower from the Wonderful World Bundle in Flirty Flamingo ink and cut it out with my Paper Snips Scissors. All of these items were adhered onto a Basic White circle cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies.
A Pool Party Sheer Ribbon Double Bow and the “Welcome” sentiment from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set were added. A tiny bird from the same set is looking on.
