Today’s cards show how to use color, dimension and layering to create my favorite cards. I’ve had several people ask me how I create my layered cards, so I’ve made these samples and created a video to show you the details.

This card uses the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set to create the beautiful leaves. Several colors of ink were applied to the stamp with Sponge Daubers to create the realistic look of fall leaves. 

The bird from the Perched in a Tree Bundle was stamped in Mango Melody ink and colored with Watercolor Pencils. Then it was cut out with the coordinating die. See more in the video tutorial below:

I made a second card without the bird, focusing more on the large fall leaves. Behind the large leaves I’ve added a few smaller leaves from Old Olive cardstock, cut using the Aspen Tree Dies. These dies also add intricate embossing to the leaves.
