FUN CARD: Thanks a Bunch!

Today I have for you a card with a fun little technique! Take a quick look at the background…what is it?? Can you guess? Yes, it’s a background of carrots! Hee Hee! You don’t realize it right away, do you?

Begin with an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, and score at 4-1/4″ Cut a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of the Day at the Farm Designer Series Paper (FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a minimum $50 order in my online store). Adhere this to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The background is created by using the large carrot in the Thanks a Bunch stamp set (FREE during Sale-a-Bration) and stamping up one side of a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock and down the other side using Mango Melody ink. The carrot was stamped off once (on a scrap piece of paper) before stamping on the cardstock. This creates a lighter shade of ink. (Watch my video tutorial below to see this technique in action.)

In the lower corner of the carrot-stamped piece are some flowers cut from a piece of the Day at the Farm paper. I cut the flowers with my Paper Snips Scissors and then glued them down with Multipurpose Glue. On the top right side or the card is the sentiment, cut with one of the Layering Circle Dies and adhered to a piece of the plaid Day at the Farm paper punched with the Handmade Tag Die (love, love!).

The bling here is Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels colored with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. Did you know that you can color these pearls? Yes, it works so well, and you end up with pretty pearls in the same color as the card base! Perfect!
