Today I have for you a cute little rusty blue truck. I have to say that I’ve never thought I would have so much fun with a truck stamp, but I am! And you will too!

This card is made with a watercolored background, to create a “scene” to support the little truck. Begin with a standard Basic White card base. Add a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Then cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Fluid Watercolor Paper. Watercolor the lower third of the piece with Soft Sea Foam ink using the largest Water Painter. Clean the brush of the Water Painter and color the middle section with Melon Mambo ink and water. Clean the brush again and color the upper third of the piece with Lemon Lolly ink and water. As you move to each new color, blend the colors together. When finished, dry the piece with a Heat Tool.

Stamp the lower 2/3’s of the piece with the tree outline stamp using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then stamp the insides of the trees with the stamp that fills in the trees using Shaded Spruce ink, stamped off once. Now you have the scene: a beautiful green ground, pink and yellow sky, with trees all around!

To create the rusty truck, on a scrap of Basic White cardstock stamp the outline of the truck first in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Using the stamp that fills in the color of the truck and stamp with Boho Blue ink. Color the tires with a Light Black Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Marker. Now let’s add rust! Ha! Use Cajun Craze ink and a “Blender Pen.” This is different from a “Stampin’ Blend.” The Blender Pen has a sponge-type tip and I think it’s filled on the inside with water or some fluid that helps ink blend slightly. (I’m not really sure, I just like it!) Get a bit of ink on the pen tip and blend slightly around the edges of the truck. It’s super easy, and you can look at my truck to see that it turned out very realistic!

The Trucking Along Bundle is currently so popular that the stamp set just came back in stock yesterday, and by the end of the day the punch was sold out 🙂 But that’s ok. I always love the stamp sets. We can cut around this little truck with our Paper Snips Scissors. We are card makers and we make darling cards!
