Follow Your Dreams Square Card!

Today we are going to follow our dreams! This is a fun 4″ x 4″ square card made with one of my new favorite colors: Copper Clay. This color is deep and rich and almost pink looking – maybe that’s why I love it? The focus here is a 2″ circle ocean scene from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set.

The ocean scene was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink and colored in with Stampin’ Up! Blends Alcohol Markers: Lemon Lolly, Balmy Blue, and Misty Moonlight.

The inspiration for this card is this week’s Global Design Project Challenge. We are to case the designer, Susan Wong. You can click on the photo below to see all of the other cards!

The circle scene is set on a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, colored using the Baby Wipe Technique. In order to do this, I laid down two thicknesses of Baby Wipes, folded as they come out of the package. I pressed an opened pad of Blueberry Bushel ink on the top 2/3 area of the wipes, and I pressed an opened pad of Balmy Blue ink on the lower 1/3 area of the wipes. Then I set the Fluid 100 paper on top of the wipes and pressed it down into the wipes. I lifted it up the paper and allowed it to dry. (You can hit it with a heat gun to speed this up, if you like.)

Cut a long piece of Copper Clay Textured Ribbon in half lengthwise. You will use only one of the 2 halves. Wrap it around the left side of the watercolored paper and tie in a bow at the top.

Cut the same lengths of Starry Sky and Tahitian Tide and White Baker’s Twine. Wrap them around the knot of the bow, tying a bow in the front, under the Copper Clay bow. Separate out the bows as shown above.

Adhere a 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock to the front of the Copper Clay card base. Adhere the watercolored piece to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp the sentiment from the Lighting the Way Stamp Set in Copper Clay ink on Basic White cardstock. Cut the words apart with your Paper Snips and adhere them to the front of the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
