Welcome to the Pals March 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Spring has Sprung”. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will inspire you with Spring or Spring-related projects. You may see floral, Easter or other general Spring-inspired designs. You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
Spring in my garden here in Southern California is announced by the first rose blooms of the season. They are always the best, the healthiest, and the prettiest roses. And my rose garden is just outside the window in my craft room so I see it while I’m stamping!!
My card today is a country rose. It reminds me of a yellow rose climbing a fence out in the country. This rose is from the Graceful Garden stamp set and, as you can see, it’s very detailed. To me it just called out to be colored with our Stampin’ Blends 🙂
Remember to use Memento Ink with the Stampin’ Blends so that the stamped outline doesn’t bleed into your color. This is particularly important when using a light color like this Daffodil Delight.
I used some of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper as a background for the rose. NOTE: on May 31st this paper will be retired, so if you like it be sure to order some right away. In fact, I just ordered another package of it because I like it so much!
This is a card you could use for many different occasions. I find that I reach for “thinking of you” cards for sympathy, get well, encouragement, anything! I really like the font on this sentiment from the Beautiful Day stamp set, and it fit so well on my card!
Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on April 11, 2018 for our Family First Hop. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We really like that.
Today’s card is full of butterfly fun! The Painted With Love Designer Series Paper is bold and bright and artistic, and I love it! It’s a perfect background for stems and butterflies.
The Butterfly Thinlits Dies are classic. Here I’ve layered three butterflies on top of each other, each cut from a different paper. I’ve angled them slightly to make it look like the butterfly is fluttering its wings 🙂 And of course the butterfly is landing on a Gold Foil flower stem cut with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.
The butterfly card fits nicely inside a handmade vellum envelope. I used the Envelope Punch Board to create the size I wanted. I love to decorate the envelopes of cards I’m going to hand to the recipient (rather than putting in the mailbox).
For this envelope I just added everything I could think of! I monogramed the envelope by cutting a letter from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Large Letter Thinlits Dies. It’s fun to personalize a fancy envelope with a monogram 🙂 And because this is a birthday card, I attached one of the precut birthday cakes from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit. Then I tied on ribbons and gold tinsel and sequins!!
This is a pretty fancy card and I have to admit it’s was for someone very special 🙂 What do you think? I love to hear your comments!

These Silver Mini Gable Boxes are the perfect containers for all your spring gifts and treats! They have a fun closure, are made of shiny silver, and you can use them just as they are or decorate them up in any way you like! I’ve decorated mine for spring, and I’ve made you a video tutorial of just how I did it!
I love these boxes! I’m having an event at my home later this month and I’m going to make one of these for each guest!! I’m planning to put wrapped Easter candy inside 🙂
To add a bit of bling, I’ve combined the Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon with the 1/8″ Silver Ribbon, All I did was tie a bow around the top of the handle and pull it tight, leaving some long tails. Then I placed a Bitty Bow on top of my bow. These Bitty Bows are just adorable, and they come with glue dots already on the back so you can stick them anywhere!

Two good friends of mine had grandbabies last week ~ one friend had a girl and one had a boy! Well of course I had to make cards for them! These cards are easy to make and I’m going to show you why. The first thing I used is my go-to baby stamp set called Moon Baby!
I stamped the little baby holding the umbrella on some scraps of Whisper White card stock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
After I stamped the sweet little babies, I colored them in with Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. Then I cut the babies out with my paper snips and layered them on top of a Tea Lace Doily with punched circles from coordinating card stock.
The sentiment was cut with the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. They are FREE during Sale-a-Bration! What? Free? Yes, and here’s a video all about them – and a coordinating stamp set. But for my baby cards today I used the Moon Baby set 🙂
The bases and envelopes for these cards are the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes. These are fabulous card bases with matching envelopes, and they make creating any card a snap! They are also FREE during Sale-a-Bration! Wow! 16 cards and coordinating envelopes, 4 each of 4 different colors. Having these on hand makes for some easy and quick cards!
Don’t you just giggle when you look at this cute little baby holding the umbrella? These cards took me about 10 minutes each to make, quick and cute! What do you think? I’d love to hear your comments!
Moon Baby is a classic stamp to have in your craft room. And combined with the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies, there are so many possibilities!
Remember. Sale-a-Bration only lasts until the end of this month, March 31 to be exact. I don’t want you to miss out on these fabulous Sale-a-Bration items! This is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year, and most of these items will not carry over after March 31. (The Celebrate You Thinlits Dies WILL carry over, but not the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes.) Get these while you can!
Oh my goodness, the new Springtime Foil Designer Series Paper is AH – MAZ – ING!!! It’s one of the new Sale-a-Bration items, FREE with any $50 order.
You are probably wondering how I colored this foil paper? Well, truthfully, my friend and fellow demonstrator, Robin Daus, did it for me! Ha! She showed me how to do it and it’s easy! You put a piece of the Springtime Foil Paper, foil side up, flat on a paper towel or grid paper. Turn an ink pad upside down in your hand and hold the ink pad above the piece of foil. Starting at one end, lower the ink pad and drag it from one side of the paper across to the other, pressing down so that the ink is deposited on the paper. Do that a few times if needed. Then wipe the foil paper with a clean cloth or paper towel until it looks glossy. That’s it!
You can see from the photo above that it may turn out a bit darker in some areas and lighter in others, and that’s what gives even more texture! Don’t you love it? I’ve used my Berry Burst ink pad for this card. I just love the way it turned out, and all thanks to Robin!
For the sentiment I’ve used the Southern Serenade stamp set. The fonts and sentiments in this set are modern and fun and I really like to use them. I’ve also used a darling flower stamp from the same set.
You can get the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper FREE with a product order of $50 or more (total before shipping and tax) during Sale-A-Bation. To learn about the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion (and more FREE gift options) CLICK HERE.
