Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set is one of my favorite sets in the annual catalog 🙂  I like it because it has some GREAT birthday sentiment stamps, and some cute flowers and balloons which are just right for birthdays!

You can see what I mean on today’s card: the sentiment is cute, and the flowers and leaves are adorable! The flowers and leaves were used to create a stamped background. It’s fun to create your own background on a card and it’s easy! Here’s a video showing you just how to do it!

Now you have even more options for your stamp sets! I like this because my cards are even more “coordinated.” And using just a few colors really emphasizes this coordination!

Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green are beautiful colors on their own, but combined they are woo-hoo!

For this card I’ve created a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel that sits on top of the card base. It’s the panel that has become my background. Then I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut a piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock and a piece of Whisper White card stock. The Gorgeous Grape piece acts as a frame for the Whisper White piece. This is the piece on which I stamped the sentiment, along with a few green – well, they’re not leaves, but maybe foliage?

Isn’t this a quick and easy birthday card? You can use any colors to make lots of birthday cards! I love to do this to have cards on hand!

First Frost Easter Blessings and Free PDF Tutorial!

Stampin' Up! First Frost Easter - Peggy Noe - stampinup

First Frost was one of my favorite stamp sets in last year’s Holiday Catalog, and I’m so glad it was held over into the spring! I pulled it out today to make a pretty Easter card.

Stampin' Up! Easter Blessings - Peggy Noe - stampinup

This card is super easy to make. It’s simply a Whisper White card stock base stamped all over the front with the flower stamps from this set using Melon Mambo ink, with another Whisper White stamped panel over that!

On a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White card stock panel I’ve stamped the largest leaf stamp in the set with Granny Apple Green ink. Do you see how the large leaf stem is coming IN from the edges to the center of the panel? Then I stamped the flowers around the leaves in Melon Mambo ink.

The “Easter Blessings” sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. Some Rose Metallic Thread and a Floral Romance Seal finish off the card!

You could duplicate this design with any ink colors and any floral stamp set! You might want to save one of my photos to your Pinterest board(s) so you can keep it for a sample!

Hello Beautiful!

Stampin' Up! Hello Beautiful - prettypapercards - stampinup

This is my current favorite sentiment…”Hello Beautiful!” It’s such a nice sentiment to say to someone ~ so affirming and complimentary. It’s from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and I find that I’m using it often.

This card starts with a 5″ x 3-3/4″ watercolored panel of Shimmery White card stock. I used Flirty Flamingo ink with a little water on a piece of plastic and pressed it to the front of the paper, then set it aside to dry. (Sometimes I create several watercolored panels at a time and then I have them available and ready when I need them!)

Over the watercolor I stamped a pretty leaf from the Pop of Petals stamp set. Using Lemon Lime Twist ink, I stamped the leaf randomly around the panel, leaving a space for the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and I used the Stamparatus to get it even on the panel. Tie a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine around the panel and adhere this piece to a 5-1/4″ x 4″ panel of Lemon Lime Twist card stock. Then adhere that on a card base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ of Whisper White card stock, scored at 4-1/4.” This is a nice spring card that you could use for lots of occasions simply by substituting different sentiments!

Lavender and Mint for a Friend!

Stampin' Up! Friend Card Wishing You Well - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Today’s card uses two of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors, Mint Macaron and Highland Heather (It’s really a lovely lavender, don’t you think?). These are such pretty spring colors ~ just right for a sweet card for a friend!

The thing that really sets this card off is the Basket Weave Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It’s dramatic and makes a strong impression…especially in the spring…flower baskets, spring baskets, egg baskets…

The wreath and bow were created using the Wishing You Well stamp set. The wreath was cut out using two of the Layering Circle Framelits, one for the outside of the wreath and one for the inside. The bow was fussy cut using my trusty Paper Snips 🙂 Both were adhered to the basket weave piece using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The word “friend” was cut with one of the Well Written Framelits Dies using Highland Heather card stock, and attached to the wreath with tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This card could be used for any type of occasion: birthday, thinking of you, hello, just anything! I like to have several cards like this on hand to send out when I need them.
