Welcome to the Pals Feburary 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Case the Catty”. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will copy or remake projects from any of the current Stampin’ Up! catalogs and brochures. After all, who doesn’t CASE (Copy and Share Everything) once in a while. You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
For my project I cased the cover of the Sale-a-Bration Catalog. I love the “for you” tag on the cover and really wanted to learn how to make it!
It’s actually made using the Lots of Lavender stamp set. I was so intrigued with the way the whole lavender bundle was colored in green, I had to figure out how they did it! It took a bit of experimenting but I finally discovered that the lavender flowers were watercolored with Lemon Lime Twist ink and the leaves were watercolored with Emerald Envy ink. I used an aquapainter to apply the color. When the water was dry I fussy cut the bundle with my Paper Snips.
The flowers are from the same stamp set. They are a part of another one of the stamps and the flower was cut out from the center of the stamped image. I stamped and cut three flowers, just like the sample I was casing.
The sentiment is from another Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Happy Wishes. It’s stamped with Bermuda Bay ink, a nice contrast to the other colors used on the tag. Remember, these Sale-a-Bration stamp sets are FREE with your order of $50 or more!
Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on March 14, 2018. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We really like that!

I’m really liking this new Lemon Lime Twist In Color. It’s so bright and fun — I just can’t stop using it!

The Scallop Tag Topper Punch I used on the top of these tags is one of my favorite punches. The scallops are so pretty and it automatically punches the little hole in the top of the tag! It’s a punch I’ll be keeping for a long time!
There’s a fabulous new stamp set in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and it’s called Crafting Forever. It’s perfect for crafters. I love the sentiment I used here on the tags…love the sentiment and love the curly font!
I’m not kidding, start making your Wish List now if you haven’t already, because this new catalog has so many great new products!! Serious! Look at the gold scallops across the top of the tag. That’s a sticker from the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers!! How easy is it to just put a sticker on a tag or card? 🙂
If you need a new Annual Catalog, just email me at [email protected] and I’ll send one to you right away. It has so many samples and ideas for making great projects ~ you’ll love it!

I’m seriously still on a high from the wonderful weekend at On Stage Atlanta! I met so many wonderful people and had tons of fun!!
Today I’m sharing with you my 3D project from World Cardmaking Day. It’s a spiral bound notebook of 3 x 5 cards which I decorated on the front. You know, it’s just fun to decorate something you might use for very ordinary purposes! Here the sweet birdcage from the Badges & Banners set takes center stage. Some butterflies punched from Gold Foil are flitting about 🙂
Watermelon Wonder Mini Striped Ribbon was folded at angles and glued down on the cover under the butterflies. Then some of the same ribbon was cut in half lengthwise to use along with some Very Vanilla Lace Trim as an embellishment on the spiral rings. Two layers of washi tape line the bottom edge of the notebook.
The sentiment is from the classic Flourishing Phrases stamp set. If you don’t have this set you really should get it. It has so many great sentiments, not to mention flowers and flourishes!! This little notebook is perfect, not only for notes, but because it’s filled with index cards it would work well for memorization cards. It might be a good stocking stuffer for a student!
Thanks for stopping by today! I so appreciate all of you 🙂

I know, this doesn’t look like a regular Christmas ornament. And, maybe it’s just a cute little thing to hang on a hook. This is one of those things that you start and it keeps morphing as you go 🙂 I kept adding more and having fun, and I kind of like how it came out!
I started with some kraft paper that I embossed with a flower stamp from the set Awesomely Artistic. White embossing on kraft paper looks so good! Then I just started layering pretty things!
Some of the things I layered first were: (1) a light pink sheet of Fruit Stand dsp; (2) Touches of Texture stamped on Shimmery White that was first watercolored with a light wash of Emerald Envy and then punched with a circle punch; and (3) a delicate white doily.
Some die cuts were added, and I gathered up some lace and adhered it with some copper spotted washi. Then I backed the whole thing with a layer of emerald envy card stock and another layer of Mint Macaron card stock. Some holes were punched in the top left and right corners, and I added a loop of twine from my garage!
So, what do you think: is it a Christmas ornament or a little thing to hang on a hook? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
