Summer Watercolored Rose

Ok, I’ll just say it, I love roses! My front walkway is lined with roses, and right now they are blooming their little hearts out! We actually didn’t even plant the roses, they were here when we bought our house, and I couldn’t be happier ūüôā

This stamp set is called Graceful Garden and it has the most beautiful rose stamps! For today’s card, the biggest rose in the set was first stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I took an Aqua Pen and lightly watercolored the rose and the leaves.

Pretty Pointer: Heat embossing the outline of a stamp confines water within the lines of the stamped image. Give this a try on your next watercolor project!

If you love beautiful flowers, this is definitely the set for you!

Beautiful Borderless Blooms!

Hello envieHello!  Today I have for you a card that uses a technique called borderless watercoloring, or sometimes no line watercoloring.  For this technique you use a very light ink to stamp your image.  Then you watercolor the stamped image and the border disappears!

Hello cu

The close up above shows the light Soft Suede stamp of the pretty blooms. ¬†A Stampin’ Write Marker was used to draw the lines on the leaves.

Hello 1

The Mint Macaron ruffle under the blooms is a stretched out Honeycomb Embellishment.  I got this idea from another demonstrator (Holly Stene) and I love it!

Hello angled

Hope you enjoyed today’s card. ¬†I love to hear your comments ~ please let me know what you think!
