Today’s card is full of butterfly fun! The Painted With Love Designer Series Paper is bold and bright and artistic, and I love it! It’s a perfect background for stems and butterflies.
The Butterfly Thinlits Dies are classic. Here I’ve layered three butterflies on top of each other, each cut from a different paper. I’ve angled them slightly to make it look like the butterfly is fluttering its wings 🙂 And of course the butterfly is landing on a Gold Foil flower stem cut with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.
The butterfly card fits nicely inside a handmade vellum envelope. I used the Envelope Punch Board to create the size I wanted. I love to decorate the envelopes of cards I’m going to hand to the recipient (rather than putting in the mailbox).
For this envelope I just added everything I could think of! I monogramed the envelope by cutting a letter from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Large Letter Thinlits Dies. It’s fun to personalize a fancy envelope with a monogram 🙂 And because this is a birthday card, I attached one of the precut birthday cakes from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit. Then I tied on ribbons and gold tinsel and sequins!!
This is a pretty fancy card and I have to admit it’s was for someone very special 🙂 What do you think? I love to hear your comments!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring spring or spring-related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the lineup on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all the projects.
My project today is a spring birthday card in a pretty glassine envelope! Stampin’ Up! glassine bags made fabulous envelopes for cards!
The card just pulls out of the envelope easily. For this card I made a little topper of lace doilies by cutting the doilies in half and adhering them to the back of the card.
The card itself has several layers that open up to reveal the sentiment 🙂 Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate with a sheet of Vellum underneath are attached to the card at the top using my favorite washi tape (the copper dotted tape from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape).
When you lift the layers up you find the pretty birthday wish from the Big on Birthdays stamp set! I made this card for a dear friend who has a birthday later this month. I’m going to write a little note there in the center of the page 🙂
You’ll noticed that I used about as much glimmer paper as I could! I love it, and right now (until March 31st) you can get this beautiful glimmer paper FREE during Sale-a-Bration! (See below!)
Layers, layers and more layers make this glassine envelope really pop! I hope you’ll try these glassine bags for envelopes. Of course, you have to personally deliver a card with this type of envelope, but you know the person who receives it will be blown away!!
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Today’s card is a CASE (copy and share everything!). I copied this from one of the Stampin’ Up! Artisans, Allison Okamitsu. All of the Artisans do such great work and are so inspiring! The combination of the beautiful colors (Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow) and stamps with the die-cut butterfly is striking, and I had to give it a try!
The stamp set is called Butterfly Basics. I personally think it’s going to become a Stampin’ Up! classic. I love the honeycomb background stamp. I probably could have stamped it a little bit more here. The fern stamp, though, is my favorite. It’s so versatile, you can just use it on anything! (And I have! You’ve seen me use it on other cards here on my blog.) And don’t you just love the little postmark stamp? Cute, cute!!
But, the lacy butterfly is the star of the show. There are three butterfly dies that come in the set. It’s called Butterflies Thinlits Dies, and I think these, too, will become classics.
Pretty Pointer: Put a piece of waxed paper in between the card stock and the die, and your butterfly will release from the die with ease. Also, a corsage-type straight pin or upholstery pin works perfectly for helping to loosen the paper from the die. I have a dear friend who is an upholsterer, and she gave me several upholstery pins ~ they work great!
