Easy DIY Valentine Wreath!

Stampin' Up! Valentine Wreath - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Do you like decorating your home? I love decorating the inside of my home, and my front porch. I usually keep a wreath on my front door, and for the past year or so I’ve had a wreath with leaves and little soft white buds. They look like tiny cotton buds. For each season I’ve added some special trim to my wreath.

For Valentine’s Day I decided to hang a small heart banner across the center opening of the wreath. I cut the hearts using the large heart from the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies, and I used the fabulous Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper for the hearts.

I cut out several hearts (one is from plain Melon Mambo card stock) and clipped them onto some of the pretty Gold Love Mini Tinsel Trim with Gold Library Clips. Bling bling!! I simply tied the ends of the trim onto branches of the wreath. Easy!!

When we moved into our home we painted our front door black. It was a bold move but now I’m so glad we did it. It looks good, and everything I hang on my door looks great against the black!

Holiday Wreath ~ Feelings of Christmas!

Stampin' Up! Feeing of Christmas, Wreath - Peggy Noe - stampinup

I just love holiday wreaths, what about you? I love the real ones, I love the fake (faux) ones, I love them on doors, I love them on windows, I love them on cards, I love them as napkin holders, I just love them! So when I saw the Feeling of Christmas stamp set in the new Holiday Catalog, I knew I had to have this set!

This stamp set comes with two wreath stamps: one is large and loose and looks like an artistic, vague wreath. This is the background stamp for the pretty, detailed wreath. I stamped the background wreath in Lemon Lime Twist. Then I used my Aqua Painter to blend the color a bit for a nice background.

Then I stamped the detailed wreath stamp over the previous one using Old Olive ink. I went back in with Real Red ink and a Blender Pen and colored the little berries and the bow and ribbon. There are four ornaments on this wreath stamp. You have to look closely, but they are there. I wiped off my Blender Pen tip and, using Blushing Bride ink, I colored the four ornaments and then went over them with the sparkly Wink of Stella.

Pretty Fall Wreath (PPA175)!

Fall has officially arrived in San Diego ~ we had our first rain last night!  Hello Fall!!  This card seems so appropriate for the occasion!

Today’s card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  These colors are AMAZING together!  I really didn’t think much of them when I first started pulling out my card stock, but as I started using the colors together they just went together beautifully!

The wreath was made using flowers punched from the Bojo Blossoms Punch.  I then used the “faux suede” technique to separate each punched flower into two flowers (that’s right, two flowers!).  I used glue dots to stick each little flower around in a circle.  For a FREE VIDEO on how to make flowers using this very cool technique, subscribe to my newsletter HERE.
