I love pictures of red cardinals in the snow in the winter! It’s just something you see during the holidays…on cards and in photos. So I thought I might try to make my own red cardinal in the snow card!
To create the snow background I used the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It totally looks like snow, don’t you think? And to create more of a snowy effect, I used dies from two different sets. The swirls (snow swirls!) are from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies, and the large snowflakes themselves are from the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies.
Now for the adorable little red (umm) cardinal. I know this bird isn’t really a cardinal, but he’s just SO cute!! And I don’t have a cardinal stamp, I have two cute birds from the Oh So Happy Stamp Set. So one of them just had to become a cardinal! I colored him with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends (and his beak and feet were colored with Daffodil Delight Blends!).
Don’t forget about the discounted and retiring items that are part of the Year-End Sales Event!
The Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies were used to make the snowflakes on today’s card, and they are retiring on December 30th. They have been my favorite dies from the Holiday Catalog! Here are some projects I’ve made using these great dies:
