It’s true, oh my goodness I love this stamp set! I love roses and this is a set of beautiful roses and leaves. Every day as I sit in my craft room I look out a window to my rose garden (I know, it sounds like an old song!). We didn’t even plant it, it was here when we bought the house, and it is such a pleasure to look out at the roses every day!
The background for today’s card was fun and easy to do. Actually I used our Pattern Party Decorative Masks and sponged Flirty Flamingo ink over the mask with a Thumb Dauber. I used a fun Host Stamp Set called Background Bits to add some more interest. It has a stamp with faint handwriting on it. Then I splattered the whole background with some Soft Suede ink. This is how you make your own designer series paper!
Ok, I just have to stop and show you my little stamping partner. Elie sleeps on her pink leopard blanket while I stamp. I called her name to get her to look up for this photo. I think she’s upset that I woke her up 🙂 Ok, back to my card…
Pretty Pointer: To add depth to a stamped image, use a Blender Pen to add more color. On this rose, I stamped it first in Flirty Flamingo and then went back in with some Powder Pink ink and my blender pen to give more substance to the flower.

To add even more interest I shredded some of the Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon and laid it across the card below a strip of the same ribbon. It acts like a surprise ~ when you see it, you think ooh, look at that fun stuff 🙂

Wow, that card is a stunner! I also love the set and got the Background bits too. Almost used it for my card today. I never thought to shred some of the ribbon, but it looks so fun and the coloring of the rose is gorgeous.
Thank you so much Peggy, for the lovely comment on my blog.
