This month, the theme is Seasons’ Greetings. This month’s design team members showcase projects inspired by their favorite seasonal time of the year. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
My favorite season of the year is fall. Now, I live in San Diego and we have what I would call a “faint” fall. We have a lot of palm trees and palm trees don’t have leaves that change colors 🙂 Also, our fall weather is usually warm…we can’t put a pumpkin on our porches for more than a few hours or we will have cooked pumpkin!! But there is a change in the air, a “faint” smell of something new. Kids go back to school and football begins. I’ll take it!
My card is made of Abigail Rose fall flowers. I fussy cut some of the flowers and leaves from the beautiful designer series paper and colored them with Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I also die cut a few pretty leaves from Petal Pink cardstock using the Aspen Tree Dies (FREE right now during Sale-a-Bration with a qualifying order). These dies both cut and emboss the leaves at the same time! I set the embossed leaves upside down right onto the Cajun Craze stamp pad and pressed down. This pressed some color into the cardstock. I tucked a few of the leaves in around the flowers.
On top of the Petal Pink cardstock base is a piece of Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. A window was cut out of this piece using the Window Dies and a striped piece of Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper was placed in the window.
A bow of two different ribbons was added under the flowers. One ribbon is Basic White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon that was colored with a Cajun Craze Dark Stampin’ Blend, and the other ribbon is Gold Shimmer Ribbon that was cut in half lengthwise.
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on September 14th. Our theme will be Focus on the Sentiment, when the design team will showcase a sentiment as the focal point of their project.
Until then, have fun in your craft space, and HAPPY FALL!
