NEW VIDEO: Butterfly Fun-Fold Card!

Today’s card is an amazing fun-fold card that’s been made with gold glimmer paper, a butterfly and a gorgeous flower! I really like this fold – it’s different and pretty, and once you’ve made one or two it becomes easy!

I wanted to use some of the retiring products, so I’ve noted the ones that are going to be retired on May 1, 2023. All of the products on this card are shown at the bottom of this post. If you are interested in ordering any, I suggest that you get them right away as things are selling fast.

This fold is called a step card. To make it, you begin with an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base, in this case, the retiring Polished Pink cardstock (I’m so sad!). Here is the diagram I used which includes the measurements. You’ll probably have to enlarge this to see the figures 🙂

The measurements for the designer series papers are:

Center square (Texture Chic dsp): 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
Left and Right Side Strips (Distressed Gold dsp): 7/8″ x 3-1/8″
Bottom Strip (Distressed Gold dsp): 7/8″ x 5-3/8″

This card uses three different designer series papers that give it the “wow” factor! Distressed Gold paper is on the sides and the bottom, the center is a piece of Texture Chic paper (retiring), and the beautiful flowers were cut from the gorgeous Hues of Happiness paper (retiring). The circle is a piece of gold glimmer paper from my own stash that’s been punched using the 2″ Circle Punch.

The butterfly is Basic White cardstock cut with the Brilliant Wings Dies (retiring, and going on sale April 4th at a discount). Then the butterfly was very lightly colored with some Polished Pink ink (retiring) using a Blending Brush, and a few pink Pastel Pearls (retiring) were added on the body of the butterfly.
