Today I have for you a fun blue and white striped daisy birthday card.
Watercoloring is not hard, especially with the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and the Water Painters. Cut a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of the Watercolor Paper. Using the widest of the Water Painters (there are three painters, each a different width), pick up some Azure Afternoon ink and draw a strip across the bottom of the paper. Repeat all the way up, set aside to dry. When dry, use a Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend and flick some ink on the paper. Set aside to dry.
On top of a Basic White card base is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the same paper that has been embossed with the Hobnail Glass Dots Embossing Folder. This is part of the Basics 3D Embossing Folder Pack. This item is an Online Exclusive, that means you can only find it online. If you’d like to see it closer, CLICK HERE. Personally, I love these embossing folders – add these to your list! 🙂
Adhere the watercolored piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals at an angle over the embossed piece. Stamp the largest daisy in the set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Night of Navy ink and cut out with the coordinating die. Then use a Blender Pen to lightly blend some Azure ink on the petals.
To create the “threads” you see coming up out of the daisy, cut a 6″ piece of white Herringbone Ribbon. Then cut a thin strip off the piece lengthwise. You should then be able to pull some threads out from the side of the larger remaining piece. Fold the threads in half and adhere them to the watercolored piece at the fold using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere the daisy on top of the Dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment using Night of Navy ink and cut around the words with Paper Snips. Adhere to the card using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
