I had so much fun making today’s card! My inspiration was this week’s Global Design Project Color Challenge. The colors are beautiful for any occasion. See what you think:
I decided to try a new technique…I don’t know if it has a name, but you place pieces of cut cardstock (cut with dies or, in this case a circle punch) over another piece of cardstock to create a fun background.
Here I punched circles from Pretty Peacock cardstock, then ran them through one of the Basics Embossing Folders. After that I used a Sponge Dauber to brush white ink over the embossed area of the circles to give them a whitish look. Then I glued them on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock. I really like the way it turned out!
The pretty floral image is from the Joy of Noel Bundle. It’s stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and each little image is watercolored. Behind the floral image are some pine branches cut from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper brushed with Petal Pink ink and Water Painters. Then I dipped the edges of the branches into the stamp pad for darkened tips.
The sentiment is from the Fruitful Blessings Stamp Set. It’s embossed in white embossing powder and cut with a label die from the Meadow Dies. This is one of my favorite label dies.
