Today I’ve picked out some pretty cards to show you. These are cards I’ve posted before, but because they are feminine and pretty I just wanted to see them again! It’s spring and the time for lovely florals and lace. Hope you enjoy!!
This month we are in for a treat. Paper Pumpkin has teamed up with Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up!’s board chair and cofounder, to deliver you a very special Paper Pumpkin kit. It’s exclusive, collectible, and one of a kind. You won’t want to miss this special edition.
When I was at On Stage in Charlotte I was able to see and put together one of the cards from this upcoming kit. I always love Shelli’s creations because her style is similar to mine. So if you like my style, you will seriously LOVE this kit! And, it coordinates with the upcoming Free as a Bird Bundle! Here’s the card I made. See the little nest on the front? Heart, heart, heart!
The look and feel of this kit is all Shelli. It’s elegant, feminine, and so full of springtime details that you’ll probably just want to take a walk, breathe in the fresh air, and then go home and stamp every card in the kit. And the box it comes in? We predict that you’ll be keeping it . . . like . . . forever. Wait and see.
Today is the last day to sign up to receive this one-time kit. I promise you will love it!
Welcome to the Pals’ May Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we’ve made some great projects with “More Than One Score.” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Today’s card is a Double Gatefold Card. It’s an easy card to make and has lots of places for designer series papers and other fun decorations. Today’s card uses mostly retiring items — many pretty ones!
The measurements of the card base are 11″ x 4-1/4,” scored at 1-3/8″ – 2-3/4″ – 8-1/4″ – 9-5/8.” Fold and burnish the scored lines, and decorate as you like 🙂 For my card I used the retiring Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper to decorate the card. I cut four pieces at 4″ x 1-1/8″ for the outer edges; two triangles at 5″ x 3″ x 3,” and a strip of Powder Pink card stock at 3/4″ x 5-1/4.”
A Pearlized Doily was placed over the center of the inside, where the triangles meet. This was topped with a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock punched with a 2″ Circle Punch. The sentiment from the Detailed With Love stamp set was stamped in Tranquil Tide Ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock. It was then cut with one of the oval dies from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
The card was folded at the score lines and then tied around the top in a pretty bow using the beautiful Powder Pink 3/8″ Mini Ruffled Ribbon. This has been one of my favorite ribbons – and one of my favorite colors – and I’m sad to see it go 🙁
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 12, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “Anything with Wings” projects. Don’t miss the fun!
This ode is in honor of the retirement of the Lovely as a Tree stamp set which has been around almost since the inception of Stampin’ Up! Every year when we get the new Annual Catalog we immediately look to see if Lovely as a Tree is in there. And this year – – IT WASN’T THERE! Shocking. At the On Stage conference we had a moment of silence for this beloved stamp set 🙁
This is a classic stamp set and it deserves to be featured for a few more times before it officially retires. Most of the other products used on today’s card are also retiring. Here I used the largest stamp in the set. It has a grouping of trees, and is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on a background of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (also retiring).
A 1/2″ x 1-1/2″ tag of Whisper White card stock was stamped with a sentiment from the Eastern Medallion stamp set (retiring) in Shaded Spruce ink. The end of the strip was cut into an arrow with Paper Snips. Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the designer series paper and tied in a bow, with the little tag tied in.

Some stamp sets you just really like, right? Well this one, P.S. You’re the Best, is one of those for me. I think one reason I like it is that I spent my professional career typing. I was a secretary and then a paralegal, and I typed a lot! And actually, I used typewriters before computers (don’t judge me). So I really like this little typewriter 🙂
I’m featuring this cute set today because it’s RETIRING on June 3rd 🙁 Not only does it have a typewriter, but lots of sentiments that fit right on the piece of paper in the typewriter, and some additional fun images. It even has an adorable tiny heart!
A small strip of RETIRING Gingham Designer Series Paper in Daffodil Delight sets off the typewriter and a scalloped circle sits underneath it. The “miss you” sentiment was stamped on Daffodil Delight card stock and cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits Dies.
Pretty Pointer: Changing the angles on your card can really make a difference! Doesn’t the sentiment square placed at a different angle really “pop”? Try this on your own cards!
During the next month I’m going to be highlighting some of the RETIRING PRODUCTS so you have an opportunity to grab them before they’re gone, Don’t forget, they are “while supplies last.” See all the RETIRING ITEMS below.
