So Very Happy to Know You!

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Friendship Happy - Peggy Noe - stampinup
Today’s card is a bold floral with a soft background ~ created with the Beautiful Friendship stamp set. I’m enjoying this stamp set so much that I’m having a hard time NOT using it!  🙂  And obviously I didn’t succeed this time!

So today I tried something new – to me. I used Whisper White Craft Ink to create some splatter dots on the background Melon Mambo (pink) piece. I’ve never created white splatter but I kind of like it. And this time I  stamped the splatter using a stamp from the Waterfront stamp set.

The flowers on the Whisper White panel were stamped in Melon Mambo ink in a circular pattern pointing outward. This panel was then covered with a piece of Vellum card stock cut to the same size. The Vellum adds a soft, almost blurry look.

The large triple roses were stamped in Daffodil Delight ink with Melon Mambo centers. Vellum and Granny Apple Green leaves were adhered to the back of the roses. The green leaves were folded in half to give more dimension.

NEW VIDEO: How to Decorate a Pressed Petal Journal!

Stampin' Up! Pressed Petals Journal - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Today’s project is a sweet decorated journal! If you’re like me, you like pretty journals 🙂 I have quite a few and just love each one! Stampin’ Up! has some small journals that are just begging to be decorated ~ so, of course I had to oblige! And, I made a video to show you how I did it.

The Pressed Petals Journal is such a nice size. And because it’s small, it’s easy to decorate. You will love the way the inside pages are printed in different colors and with different patterns on the pages!

The Pressed Petals Washi Tape is really fun. Do you see the roll of purplish (Rich Razzleberry) washi tape below on the right side of the photo? It’s really individual petals that peel off and you can place them wherever you want! Totally fun! You can see that I’ve placed 5 of them in and around the stamped flowers below. I love the depth of color that they add.

Here is a close up of the inside front cover of the journal. As described in the video, a tiny envelope was created with another sheet of the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper and using the Envelope Punch Board. Inside is a small piece of Rococo Rose card stock stamped with the same sentiment that is on the front of the journal. It’s from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink. The envelope flap is closed with two little metal roses from the Bird Ballad Trinkets. Each is adhered to the envelope with a Mini Glue Dot. A small bit of Linen Thread is secured around the lower flower so that when you close the flap of the envelope you can run the thread around the roses in the shape of a figure 8.

On the inside of the back cover of the journal I adhered one of the Stampin’ Up! 3″ x 3″ Whisper White envelopes. For this envelope I cut off the upper flap before securing it to the paper. The envelope is trimmed with a bit of Rococo Rose Linen Ribbon and a flower and some leaves stamped with the Beautiful Friendship stamp set. The flower and leaves were fussy cut with some Paper Snips and attached to the ribbon with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

A Pearlized Doily was. glued to a piece of Whisper White card stock. I then cut the paper close to the scallops of of the doily. This created a doily backed with card stock. I then stamped around the doily with the same flower and leaves used on the envelope. The “hello” sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and punched out with the 1-1/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Adhere to the center of the doily with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Vintage Fanciful Fragrance Layered Card!

Stampin' Up! Fanciful Fragrance Garden - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Layers, layers and more layers! Today’s card features stamps from the Fanciful Fragrance stamp set and some very pretty papers. Layered cards are some of my favorites to make 🙂 I pull out everything I love at the moment and figure out how to pull it all together!!

Stampin' Up! Fanciful Fragrance Card - Peggy Noe - stampinup

This card begins with a Crumb Cake card base. The first layer is a piece of Balmy Blue card stock cut to 5-1/4″ x 4,” followed by a piece of Vellum card stock cut to the same size. The Vellum is dry embossed with the Curls & Swirls Embossing Folder. This adds lots of texture. A piece of Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim is attached along the left side of the Vellum piece.

Then various-sized rectangular pieces of the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Papers are layered using Stampin’ Dimensionals – to create height. Hidden in there is a bit of the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape. This washi tape was created from pages of an old gardener’s journal. (Isn’t that neat?) A 2″ x 1-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock is stamped with the typed stamp from the Fanciful Fragrance set, using Soft Suede ink, and layered on.

Very Vanilla rose outline pieces are cut with the Wild Rose Dies and layered on the left side. Some Garden Green leaves are punched using the Leaf Punch and tucked in, and the floral stamp in the Fanciful Fragrance set is stamped using Crumb Cake ink and colored with Rococo Rose and Old Olive ink and a Blender Pen, then fussy cut. Finally, stamp the “Love, Me” sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a Magnolia Lane Cork Embellishment. Attach a little antique bronze flower to the cork with a Mini Glue Dot and tie the cork label on with Linen Thread.

A Slice of Happiness!

Stampin' Up! Slice of Happiness Grapes - Peggy Noe - stampinup

Today I have for you some very sweet fruit! These luscious grapes are from a stamp set called Slice of Happiness and it’s filled with yummy fruits!

There’s a kiwi fruit, a pomegranate, and a bunch of grapes! The sentiments in this set are great…they are one of the reasons I got this set; especially the sentiment used on today’s card “You’re the Sweetest.” Love, love!

Stampin' Up! Slice of Happiness - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The grapes and leaves are watercolored in a fun technique. Both the grapes and the leaves are on the same stamp, so in order to ink them in separate colors I used a Blender Pen and applied Granny Apple Green ink just to the leaves and stems of the grapes. Then I used a Blender Pen to apply Merry Merlot ink to the grapes. I spritzed the stamp with water using our Stampin’ Spritzer, and then stamped on our new Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I just love the way it turned out!

The sentiment was then stamped directly on the paper in Merry Merlot ink using the Stamparatus Stamp Positioning Tool. This allowed me to line it up straight on the paper. A few Frosted and Clear Epoxy Droplets were sprinkled around to give the look of water droplets 🙂

This is such a fun stamp set! I’m really excited to play with the other fruits!!

So this past week I’ve been in Pennsylvania visiting my son and his wife. We’ve had such a fun time and I’m getting ready to fly home tonight. Thought you might like to see a picture:

NEW VIDEO: Let’s Talk Splattering!

Stampin' Up! Splatter Fanciful Fragrance - prettypapercards - stampinup

Today we are going to talk about splattering! What is splattering? It’s putting little specs on your paper and it’s easy. I’ve tried several methods of splattering and have finally found one that’s – well, the least messy! 🙂  I’ve made a video to show you how I do it!

Stampin' Up! Splatter Fanciful Fragrance - Peggy Noe - stampinup

The background on this card was stamped with the floral stamp in Highland Heather that’s been stamped off (that means ink – stamp first on scrap paper to get some of the ink off – then stamp on your card piece). With the addition of the light splattering, the background looks like fragrance that’s been sprayed all over!

Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder and Stampin’ Blends!

There are so many uses for the Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder! First of all, it’s downright gorgeous just as it is. Emboss anything, any color of card stock, I’m even thinking about foil (I’ll have to try that!), and that’s all you need because the folder just stands alone in artistic beauty. But add coloring to the embossed piece, and you take it over the top to a new level!!

Stampin' Up! Magnolia Emboss Enjoy - prettypapercards - stampinup

The card base on this card is a piece of Petal Pink card stock cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4.” Then, using the Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder, and the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate, emboss  a 5-1/4″  x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock. Color the embossed piece using Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers as shown. For this card I also did a bit of sponging using Petal Pink ink and a Sponge Dauber.

Stampin' Up! Magnolia Emboss 3D - Peggy Noe- stampinup

In the left corner under the sentiment I’ve placed a darling piece of Whisper White card stock that’s been cut with a floral die from the Perfect Parcel Dies.

Then the sentiment “Enjoy Today” from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink on a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock and embossed with Whisper White Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. A few of the Petal Pink Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins were scattered around for a little bling 🙂

The entire suite of Magnolia Lane products is out-of-control gorgeous! I love every single item, and this embossing folder is one of my favorites.

Don’t forget: when you use the newer Stampin’ Up! 3D embossing folders, you need to also use the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate. It gives just the right thickness in your Big Shot “sandwich” to create the 3D effect.
