Today’s card is super fun for two reasons: (1) because I got to use a brand new stamp set called Happiness Surrounds and, (2) because it’s for the Global Design Project Challenge for this week! And, the challenge is to create a card for Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary ~ whee!!
It seems that a congratulations card for Stampin’ Up! should be really special! I decided to use some pretty colors to create a watercolor background. I used an Aqua Painter to wet the watercolor paper and then added the colors. I also stamped one of the flower stamps with the Gorgeous Grape ink and then added water. It pretty much disappeared into the background. When the colors blended to my satisfaction, I used a dry tissue to absorb the excess water and then I dried the paper with the heat tool.

When the paper was dry I stamped it with the medallion stamp in Soft Suede Ink and then went back with a Blender Pen and added some of the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint (for bling!). Some dots were stamped with a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set and a sponge dauber with the Shimmer Paint.

And of course I had to add a linen bow! The congratulations sentiment is in a great font ~ just perfect for a 30th birthday celebration!
This stamp set is a great photopolymer set and is part of the Snowflake Showcase Suite ~ only available for a limited time ~ until November 30 or while supplies last. This stamp set is good for all kinds of occasions and times of year ~ I love it!

Fun to see this card incorporate your artistic flair, Peggy! Would like to try it in blues and greens… some of my favorite colors. Nice work! ?
Very interesting card! Like everything about it, especially the watercoloring. Mine never turns out that nicely. Guess I’ll have to give it a go and see if I can do better. Thank you so much for sharing.
