And I do wish you a lovey day! It’s almost spring and it’s time to start making pretty floral birthday cards. That’s what we did this past weekend at my card classes and I want to share one of the cards with you today!

Pretty Pointer: To create a simple floral background, stamp a flower lightly in a diagonal pattern from left to right across your background panel. Here a flower from the Botanical Bliss stamp set was used with Petal Pink ink. In order to give it a “fade to background” look, I stamped off before actually stamping the background piece. That means that I inked the stamp, then stamped once on a side piece of paper, and then stamped on the background piece. It gives a lighter image which is just what I wanted.

A 1″ strip of Painted Seasons dsp is adhered 2/3rd’s of the way down the background piece and a ribbon was then tied around in a bow. The sentiment from the Forever Lovely stamp set was stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink and then cut with a die from the Stitched Label Framelits and adhered over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Something exciting happened in my family over the weekend…my youngest daughter had a BIG birthday and we celebrated with a fun party! Her gift was a money tree! Have you ever heard of a money tree? As a crafter I really enjoyed putting it together and wanted to share it with you 🙂

Thank you for stopping by today!

Two beautiful ladies! What a sweet picture!
Your card is beautiful, Peggy! Such a soft, pretty color. I wish I lived close enough to attend your card-making classes… I am sure that they are a lot of fun! ?
The money tree turned out very nice. Thanks for sharing a photo of it. It is a great idea for a gift.
Thank you Patricia!
Love the money cake! A tree just has the bills pinned on, or some such attachment, but the cake is FABULOUS! Much more impact and creativity – AND memorable! One of a kind. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks Allison! It was really fun to make!
Both the card and the cake are fabulous! Thank you for sharing them!!!
You’re welcome, Carol! Thank you for stopping by!
I’ve been to theme showers (baby…diaper cake, wedding…$$$) but not a birthday shower cake. Lucky gal…doesn’t have to be getting married or having a baby. Both of you are over the moon *gorgeous*!!
