Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! While the COVID 19 pandemic is adding stress to our lives, we Pals hope this blog hop will help to lift your spirits. Let us inspire you to take a creative break and relax for a little while. This month our theme is “Special Occasions” where we have made a project for just about any occasion you can think of! You’ll find the full line-up below to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
The special occasion for my card today is the retirement of a friend! Retiring is a big event and it’s a wonderful time to send a special card!
The fun doily, cake and sparklers were created with the Wish for it All Bundle. This stamp set is great for all kinds of celebrations, birthdays, weddings, graduations…lots of special occasions!
The background on this card was watercolored with Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green inks and an Aqua Painter. It gives a softness to the card that I really like 🙂
The cake has a pretty tricolored ribbon tied around it and three blingy sparklers on the top!
The die-cut word “happy” was cut out using the Well Written Dies, and the word “retirement” was stamped using the coordinating Well Said stamp set. These are two products that have options for so many different events and occasions ~ I use them all the time and love having them handy to pull out when I need them 🙂
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 13th, when we will say “Goodbye to January Mini and 2019 Annual Catalog and/or Hello to 2020 Annual Catalog.” The Design Team will showcase their favorites from the retiring catalogs or new products from the new catalog. Don’t miss the fun! And, until then, please stay safe.

It’s great to see how others put their own stamp on life and your lovely creation for the this Pals Hop highlights one of my favorite color combinations! Be well friend and keep creating!
Beautiful card, I love the colors and that cake is so fun!
Using the Gilded Gems for the sparklers is wonderful! Looks fabulous! Your bow is perfect!
Always love your cards, Peggy!
Love, Love this darling cake and the celebratory effect of your card! Perfect!
Great card, Peggy! I haven’t seen any cards with this set before. Love your color combination and that great background.
Hi Peggy,
I love your card. I am a fellow SU person and I tried to make your card for my husband’s boss who is retiring. I have white craft ink refill and Wish for it All stamp set but I cannot figure out how to achieve the white stamped image on the gorgeous grape paper. The cake stamp seems to be recessed. I tried white embossing powder and filling in the stamp from the refill bottle. Any tips to offer? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cathy G
