It’s summer and time for a bright summery card! The Sunflowers dies and the Forever Flourishing dies are my total favorites right now. You can do so much with them. And today I’ve combined these dies to create a fun card for summer.

Let’s celebrate the summer today with some bright yellow and green. This card starts out with a Daffodil Delight striped and watercolored piece that is set off to the left side of the card. The sunflower is the star of this card. The beautiful Whisper White die-cut sunflower is set on top of a lightly watercolored piece. The sunflower center was die cut from Mango Melody card stock and sponged with Magenta Madness ink.

Behind the sunflower are leaves cut using the Forever Flourishing Dies. These dies are so great! I cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ of card stock in half, place the dies on the paper and run them through the die-cutting machine. I end up with a lovely bunch of leaves!!!

For this card, I cut leaves from Granny Apple Green card stock, and from some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper lightly washed with water and Granny Apple Green ink. The leaves were tucked under the sunflower. The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and is heat embossed in White Embossing Powder on Basic Black card stock.

I hope this encourages you to sit down and create a fun summer card ~ and send it to a friend! During these days it seems that we all need some encouragement! May YOU be encouraged today!
