It's National Chocolate Cake Day!!

I know, it’s shocking isn’t it…this big gorgeous chocolate cake? Well, I do love chocolate cake, and when I saw that today is National Chocolate Cake Day I just had to post it!! And, I had to make a card with a chocolate cake on it!!!

Now, my slices of chocolate cake don’t look as beautiful as the cake above, but they are yummy!

Today I created a card with a 3-layer chocolate cake. The cake is made with three strips of Early Espresso card stock cut with the Classic Label Punch. The strips were adhered to a 1-1/2″ wide scrap of Basic White card stock using Multipurpose Glue. I left about 1/16″ space between each of the layers.

The candles above the cake were stamped in Highland Heather ink using a stamp from the Approaching Perfection stamp set. This set is FREE during Sale-a-Bration! For the cake frosting I used Shimmery White Embossing Paste. After frosting the cake with the embossing paste, I cut around the candles. Then the entire piece was placed on the foil circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The little balloon was also stamped from the same set using Highland Heather ink and cut out with my Paper Snips. Behind the cake is a scalloped circle cut from a piece of Rococo Rose Love You Always Foil Sheets. Under that circle is another circle of Basic White card stock cut with a Stitched Shapes die. The sentiment is a “preview” of the Birthday Chicks Dies available February 2, 2021!
