Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Global Design Project Color Challenge. These colors are SO pretty! I really love each one, and it was fun to use them together!
When I create for a color challenge, I pull out every item I have in the designated colors. Then I start getting ideas! One of the new items I hadn’t used before was the Soft Shimmer Paper. I cut a 2″ strip and punched it with the Elegant Edge Tag Punch. You can’t really see it in these photos, but the Berry Burst paper is so softly glimmery. The center of the flower was also cut from the Soft Shimmer Paper. The tag is the focal point of this card.

The Azure Afternoon cardstock and ink are so pretty. For the large flower, I watercolored the ink on a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, first with water, washed on the piece, and then with the ink carefully added to the paper with a Water Painter and then dried. For the thin flower outlines, I used the same process but with Berry Burst ink. Some Vellum leaves were punched out with the Bough Punch.

One of my favorite (and on sale!) papers, the Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, forms the background layer of this card.
