Ooh, I just love macarons! When I saw that the Cake Day Dies created macarons, I just had to have them. And I’ve not been disappointed! There are cute small little dies that cut the top and bottom cookie part and a die that cuts the inside frosting. They are so cute that I decided to make them in lots of colors and stack them up!

So, what actually are macarons? The French macaron (pronounced mack-ah-ROHN) is a delicate sandwich cookie made with almond flour. While their exact origin is debated, potentially tracing back to Italy and Catherine de’ Medici, macarons gained fame in France and the modern version was popularized by Parisian bakeries. They are now beloved worldwide as an elegant and luxurious treat. There we have it! The Cake Day Bundle does much more than cut macarons, but today is a day to celebrate macarons 🙂

The cookies here were cut from Highland Heather, Strawberry Slush, and Summer Splash cardstock, with Basic White cardstock used for the frosting.

The Cake Day Bundle also has this flag die that can be stamped with the happy birthday stamp from the set. The background paper here is one of my new favorites, the Mixed Up Patterns. It has lots of great background patterns.

I’d love to hear if you’ve tasted macarons and what you think of them! Leave me a comment below and let me know 🙂
