Today’s card is all about Hydrangea Hue, the gorgeous new blue In Color. Don’t you LOVE this color? For almost everyone I’ve talked to, this is their favorite new color.
For my card today, I’ve used three different Designer Series Papers: the Artisan Sketched Garden, Pearlized In Color Paper, and Bloom Boutique. The Pearlized paper is the first layer on top of the Basic White card base. This paper is so sparkly, and it comes in all 5 new In Colors!
A strip of Bloom Boutique paper was laid over the Pearlized paper and then a a piece of Artisan Sketched Garden paper (colored with a Hydrangea Hue Shimmer Brush, distressed and torn on the edges). This is the highlight of the card 🙂
The design of today’s card is based on this week’s Global Design Project Challenge. We are to “case” the designer, Jay Soriano. Here’s his card:
I used the Help Me Grow Bundle for the pot and the plant inside. I blended the leaves in the pot with Crumb Cake ink using a Blending Brush, and then I watercolored over that with Hydrangea Hue ink.
Every garden has to have butterflies, right? The butterflies were stamped and punched using the All Aflutter Bundle. They were also watercolored with Hydrangea Hue ink. Some Gold Mesh Ribbon and Moody Palette Dots finished off this fun card!
