I love the Tic Tac Toe Challenges…they are so much fun! My card for this week’s challenge is a green, fall, friendship card (first column on the left)! Here is the board:For the “fall” element of the card I did a watercolor wash on Shimmery White paper using Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Berry Burst inks. After the color wash dried, I splattered some Berry Burst ink over the paper in little dots.
For the green element I punched leaves using my favorite new Leaf Punch! I use this punch constantly ~ these leaves are so cute and you can just slip them in on any card 🙂 Here I added a few Gold Foil leaves for bling (!) and a few strands of Jute Twine.
And, what is friendship but having coffee with a friend? I love this sentiment from the Coffee Cafe stamp set, and I added a sweet little coffee cup cut from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.
So tell me, what card would you make for this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge? I’d love to see your card over in the gallery! CLICK HERE to see what the other designers have done, and enter your creation!
Yeah, today is Tic Tac Toe day! I really like the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, there are SO many options. I mean, you can choose any one of 9 different options!! Here is this week’s board:For today’s card I chose the left column: pink, circle, vellum. I also used a few of the other items on the board like pattern paper, flower, and gold 🙂
There’s a sneak peek here for you…do you see these darling little leaves? They were punched with the NEW LEAF PUNCH!! And get ready because this punch is available to order starting tomorrow, September 1st! Yeah! I punched the leaves first from Lemon Lime Twist and then from Vellum, laying the Vellum layer on top.
The flowers were cut out with the Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies. Do you see the little gold dots? Those are on the layer of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.
Pretty Pointer: Layer the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate over anything for additional bling! Here it’s layered over some designer series paper. It gives a subtle bit of bling!!

It’s Thursday and time for another fun Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I really love this challenge…you can choose which items you want to use on your creation as long as they make a tic tac toe! I’ve chosen the first row across: thank you, sequins, all things round.
The Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper is so pretty. The more I use it the more I love it. Look at these beautiful peaches! Really, all you need is this paper to make a great card! For a bit of interest I added a panel of vellum on the left.
Do you see that little bit of Pumpkin Pie 1/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon? It adds such a nice touch. The sentiment is a stamp from the All Things Thanks set and is stamped on a piece of Shimmery White card stock that has been watercolored with a wash of Crushed Curry ink.
The fun peach on the front was just fussy cut from a small piece of the dsp. I LOVE this paper!!
Pretty Pointer: Adding unexpected items to your card gives interest and surprise. On this card, the ribbon and the cut out peach add surprise elements that appeal to the eye. These bring a “smile” when your friends and family open the envelope. I love knowing that they are smiling when they receive my card 🙂

Today is another Tic Tac Toe Challenge, and it’s super fun! Here’s our challenge board:
For my card today I’ve picked the last column on the right: diecut, floral, yellow. I’ve used the popular Daisy Punch as the focal point 🙂
The Whole Lot of Lovely designer series paper makes a beautiful background for the yellow daisy! I love black and yellow together, don’t you? The background on the top of the card is Watercolor Paper with a Daffodil Delight wash.
Pretty Pointer: Create a quick and soft background by lightly washing over some Watercolor Paper. I use an Aqua Painter and pull a little color from the lid of an ink pad. When the pad is closed, press the top and bottom together (squeeze the closed pad). This will transfer some of the ink from the pad to the lid. When you open the pad you have some ink ready in the lid. Grab a bit of this ink with the Aqua Painter and run it across the paper for a soft wash!
Here are all the items I used to make my card today.

Truthfully, I’m just getting this post in. Yesterday was a crazy day here. The power went out in half of our house and we had to have an electrician come fix it. (I’m so thankful that my son-in-law is an electrician! He was so sweet to come after work and fix our problem!). And, I just returned from a little trip to Pennsylvania and I left my computer power cord there! Aaaagh!! I have to run out shortly and get a new power cord. Right now I’m down to very little power, so I’m going to post this now and come back and add a few things when I get my new cord! But this card is so cheery, I just had to get it posted for you!
And, don’t forget about the $5 Bonus Coupon you can receive for every $50 order! Only available until July 31st…don’t miss it!
Thanks for stopping by today, and be sure to pop over to our Tic Tac Toe Challenge and enter your card! Which row or column will you use??
Today is Tic Tac Toe Challenge Day and we’ve got a great challenge board for you! This time I chose the first row across (at the top) but I added in a few other items from the board just for fun 🙂
For this card I tried something different with the embossing paste. We have the Decorative Masks to use with the paste, but I wanted some other patterns. I decided to use a punched piece of card stock, one that had a daisy punched out of it. And, it worked!
First I lightly watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with an Aqua Painter and some Daffodil Delight ink to give a little background color. When that was dry, I laid the punched card stock square over the watercolored piece and pressed some of the Embossing Paste into the punched area with the palette knife. I did that a few more times. Then I went back with the Aqua Painter and, without adding any water, just added a bit more ink and lightly painted the daisies. The paste dries a little rough, but that’s what it’s meant to do…add texture 🙂
These are my favorite summer colors: Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy. They just look so fresh! And this Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon is one of my new favorites – I was so happy to be able to use it on this card. This ribbon is super-easy to work with and ties great bows! A little vellum butterfly just adds to the summer theme.
So is your mind whirling about what shapes you could use with the embossing powder? Leave me a comment and let me know your ideas, I’d love to hear! And if you haven’t tried it, you absolutely must! It’s easier than you would think!

Today is the FIRST Tic Tac Toe Challenge and I’m so excited you are here!! This is our debut challenge and it is a fun one. The tic tac toe board we are playing with is below. Each square is an element you can use when creating your card. Use any three elements/supplies on the board as long as the three elements you choose form a row, column or diagonal on the challenge board.
For my card today I used quite a few elements from the board. I’ll tell you about them below 🙂
The first element is heat embossing. I embossed the flamingo from the new Fabulous Flamingo stamp set using white embossing powder. I also embossed the sentiment in gold (another element). I have to say I love this sentiment and I am “tickled pink” about this whole stamp set!
The next element is stripes. I used a cute little stripe stamp from the new Tabs for Everything stamp set. And the stripes are set on a white (element) circle (element) and tied up with a bit of white baker’s twine (element). See how fun this challenge is? I just couldn’t help myself, I had to use as many of the elements as I could! When I look at the challenge board, my card makes the diagonals in both directions, the center vertical row and the top and bottom horizontal rows. You can tell I had fun 🙂
Why don’t you play with us? Just click the graphic above to go to the challenge website (tictactoechallenge.com) to enter your card! You can also see what the other designers have created ~ I can tell you their cards are beautiful!! Thank you for stopping by today and being a part of our first challenge!
