I’m welcoming December with a handmade Christmas banner! I’ve hung the banner on a wreath that is on the barn door entrance to my craft room. I like to display how the pretty Stampin’ Up! papers and ribbons and stamps can be used for seasonal home decor. Today’s banner is made with the gorgeous Christmastime is Here Suite.
The banner (or what is sometimes called a bunting) is created with five tags tied onto a piece of Real Red Curly Ribbon. You can hang your little banner any place, on a mirror, on the Christmas tree, over your kitchen sink…the possibilities are endless! Let it bring you a bit of holiday cheer!
Here is one of the tags. The backing for each tag is a 4-1/4″ x 2″ piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock punched on the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Each tag has a 4″ x 1-3/4′ piece of the Christmastime is Here Designer Series Paper adhered to the card stock. Also, at the top of each tag is a die-cut piece of Gold Foil. The die used is a swirly corner die from the Roses Dies. This piece was glued to the top of the tag with tiny dots of Multipurpose glue, making sure that the top center opening of the die-cut piece goes over the top hole on the tag. This allows you to run some Linen Thread through the hole and tie it onto the Real Red Curly Ribbon.
Each tag is decorated with items from the Christmastime is Here Suite. The tag on the left above has a rose which was fussy cut from a piece of the dsp. The rose is attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals over a few pieces of Gold Foil punched with the Sprig Punch. The tag on the right has a piece of Gold Foil cut with the lattice-looking die that is part of the Roses Die set.
The tag on the left above is the one I put in the center of the banner. The backing on this one is different – to make it stand out. It was cut from a piece of Gold Foil to highlight the gorgeous piece of Designer Series Paper (another sheet of the Christmastime is Here dsp). A sentiment from the Christmas Rose stamp set was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and punched with the Timeless Label Punch. The tag on the right has a little rose bud which was fussy cut from another piece of the dsp. It’s sitting on some leaves punched from Gold Foil and some of the dsp using the Leaf Punch. A sweet bow tied from Garden Green Double-Stitched Ribbon was attached with a few Mini Glue Dots and some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots were added for bling!!
I’d love to hear what you think. Would you use a little banner like this? Where would you hang it?

I love these tags for your banner
Peggy—I could cry looking at this banner!! It’s beautiful. I’m unable to purchase the set, but if I would make it I would hang it in the kitchen above the sink or in the bathroom, on the mirror. Your projects are all so beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Wow!! That is just super!! Thanks for sharing, Peggy.
Hi Peggy! I like the banner tags in this post. The die at the top really makes this an elegant project.
Such a beautiful banner of tags. These would be so elegant on pretty packages!
I love everything about this banner! What an ingenious idea and this DSP is perfect for this decor piece. I would hang it on the mirror in my foyer….or on the mirror in the powder room….or….so many possibilities.
